The visitor cards offer new point scoring opportunities giving some focus and you should be looking to getting a couple of these in the first couple of rounds.

The reservation token can be used as a new action on your turn to take a card from the meadow or train station and place it on top of it in front of you. Also included are some new special event cards which are more similar to the Bellfaire events with combinations of cards needed and not specific named cards like the base game. You can discard cards equal to one of the types to get points, this means if you wait and get more you can get more points but you are risking others taking the cards from you which gives a nice push and pull.

This game comes with a deluxe velvet bag which is quite honestly a bit superfluous, but so is that beautiful Everdell tree, so I am here for it.In terms of the new cards, all of them come with the trademark amazing artwork of cute critters doing “people things”. For instance, a Critter from Newleaf may be able to be played into any Green Production construction, no matter what it is. Unlike the Spirecrest expansion which is a lot more restrictive and makes the game more challenging, this makes the game more explosive letting you find bigger and better synergies within your city. You can also use the flipped side to redeploy from the summer season onwards discarding the ticket from the game. However, if you did like Everdell and wanted to try out some mechanical tweaks or a significant overhaul of Events and the Main Deck, this might be up your alley!

If you didn’t like Everdell before, this expansion isn’t going to change your mind - you’re still playing Everdell. These offer similar abilities to the base game cards with some only interacting with the station board along with several cards which can copy cards in your opponents cities but based on cards in your city. There is also a new event for getting to 15 cards in your city so that has to be a focus now with 5 points for this event along with potential other card bonuses. In the knoll worker placement space you discard 3 cards from the meadow or station, refill and then draw 3 cards from either the meadow or station into your hand. The award-winning Everdell line of board games invites you into a beautifully immersive world of constructions and critters.For me this module is take it or leave it, it is so small that it can be easily incorporated but I don’t miss it if it is not there. It also features the Train Station Board, resource-delivering Train Cars, travel-worthy Tickets, and Reservation Tokens!

The other Station space lets you discard one of the face up visitor cards, and then choose one of the two face-up visitors to place in your city. For example if you have the twig barge built in your city then you can subsequently play the barge toad card down for free rather than paying two berries. Each player has one Reservation Token that can be used instead of any of your usual actions on your turn. Since we’re going to be talking about a game expansion, we’re not going to go into too much depth on Everdell itself.

They however do not use regular occupied tokens to be played into buildings for free but golden tokens. In the mid to late game you can use the ticket to move your meeples to events to maximise your point gain or from the station board to let you use it twice in one turn. Our dedicated in-house team of producers, coordinators, and all-around avid gamers take every aspect of a game into consideration. For this reason I would only play with any of the elements of the expansion when players are fully comfortable with the base game and even Bellfaire so they are used to player powers.
