About this deal

Two stars were actually extremely generous, how on Earth this book has better ratings I have no idea. The twins, Caroline and Charlie, moved out long ago to start a fashion business that may now be faltering.

But with this year’s trip comes tragedy, and suddenly the Whittier’s adult children find themselves reuniting in the family home without their parents for the first time ever. Tragedy struck when their parents, Preston and Constance Whittier went on a romantic ski "winter moon" holiday, leaving their children to come together in sorrow. I mean come on are we supposed to believed all these people haven't had a relationship in 20 years and OH SUDDENLY for no particular reason all of them minus one find their amazing SO. Danielle Steel has been hailed as one of the world’s most popular authors, with nearly a billion copies of her novels sold. Even though they aren’t all in agreement they are supportive of each other as each as their own story.

But on Connie and Peter’s annual skiing holiday in Europe, an avalanche hits their resort, resulting in tragedy. Suddenly, their adult children find themselves reuniting in the family home without their parents for the first time ever. Danielle Steel has been hailed as one of the world’s bestselling authors, with almost a billion copies of her novels sold.

Set in present-day New York, The Whittiers is a heartwarming story about the importance of family, home and being true to yourself, from the world’s favourite author Danielle Steel.Preston and Constance Whittier have built a happy life together with a brood of six children raised in a beautiful historic Manhattan mansion. Danielle Steelhas been hailed as one of the world’s bestselling authors, with a billion copies of her novels sold. Selling the house, along with all the memories that live in its walls, feels like yet another devastating loss. I do believe this author has potential, because something about the writing seemed like it could be interesting, I just wish there was an interesting plot as well. Her many international bestsellers include All That Glitters, Royal, Daddy’s Girls, The Wedding Dress, The Numbers Game, Moral Compass, Spy, and other highly acclaimed novels.

I am not a DS diehard fan but the premises of this book interested me enough to give it a listen and it was highly rated on Goodreads. They are realistic, relatable, and likeable (with the exception of one that is severely emotionally damaged). But in the course of a year, all find amazing partners in love and their professional lives become wonderful and cue the flowers and happy music. To the best of my knowledge, real people don't all act this way; of course, if you were to inherit a 100 million-dollar house and the financial means to back it up, had five siblings that are always there for you. The worst you ever had to put upon with was a brother who is Autistic/on the spectrum, a young sister (21 years old) who is living her life to the fullest and becomes pregnant out of wedlock and had to go through a divorce from a bitch of a wife I might have had more empathy for these characters. The parents had asked that the mansion be sold for profit after their death, but what if the siblings want to keep and maintain their childhood home? Her new book, The Whittiers, appealed to me as it is about family dynamics and dealing with the unexpected. Preston and Connie Whittier have spent their lives in successful lucrative careers and raising their six children.
