The Pentax KF’s digital SLR design means it has an optical viewfinder with one focusing system (an 11-point SAFOX AF system) and a rear screen with a different one. In live view you get hybrid phase/contrast AF which should give much faster and more effective autofocus than the contrast-only AF on other Pentax DSLR bodies, though this will depend on the lens. If your computer does not have a card slot, you can copy the firmware update file by inserting the SD card into your camera and then connecting the camera directly to your computer. USER Mode 2 “HDR LANDSCAPE” The movement may not be sufficiently corrected when the object is moving in a certain direction and/or pattern. This function does not guarantee that the movement is properly corrected with all subjects. Pentax is known for their very effective shake-reduction (SR) technology, and the KF is no slouch here, with a high-accuracy gyro sensor and 4.5 stops of compensation similar to top-of-the line Pentax cameras. That’s a big boon for low-light photography and when using powerful telephoto lenses. When panning with a moving subject, the sensor automatically detects the direction of camera movement and controls the SR unit for optimum results. The mode dial has two extra modes – Sv and TAv – which you will only see on Pentax cameras, though in reality these just offer a different route into manual and automatic ISO settings.
