About this deal

Yes. Krytox™ oils and greases have been used to lubricate plastic and elastomer components for more than 60 years. For more specific information, please refer to the Krytox™ Lubricants Plastics and Elastomer Compatibility document. Provided directly from the manufacturer, our genuine, high-quality 205g0 switch lubricant is perfect for lubing any of your switches! Krytox GPL 205g0 is the “industry standard” lubricant for linear switches and stabilisers. Krytox GPL 205g0 (205 grade 0) is the ultimate switch lube for your linear switches and stabilisers, as custom mechanical keyboard enthusiasts recommended. GPL 205 Grade 0 is a military-grade high-viscosity lubricating grease. Perfect for stabilizers, linear switches, and high-tactility switches.

As a general rule of thumb, lower viscosity lubricants are used on tactile switches, whereas higher viscosity lubricants are used on linear switches. This is often desirable because you don’t want to cover up the tactility of a tactile switch. You want to keep that exposed while smoothing away some imperfections. On the other hand, a linear switch may not have as much character as a tactile switch and perhaps you might feel the imperfections a bit more as well, and so often you want a very smooth experience while not worrying too much about masking the original switch qualities. Let’s start with why we lube switches. Often a switch will come prelubed from the factory but only with a small amount that is sloppily applied to the stem legs. This may be all fine and well for the uninitiated but if we’re going to take the time to build a custom board we may as well do it right. No. Krytox™ oils and greases do not contain any silicones, and no silicone is used in the manufacturing process.DuPont only manufactures Krytox in China, and has not manufactured any Krytox products in the United States in decades. I cannot say if it is the same [as Miller-Stephenson] or not, but I can say if it is crossing markets it is definitely gray market, which is generally not allowed, or very very old. Refer to the Krytox™ Performance Lubricants Product Overview or the Krytox™ Lubricants Product Selection Guide to learn more.

Makes Linears feel super smooth and ok for tactiles if you don’t over lube buttery smooth and adds a nice softness to switches removes all spring ping and crunchiness. For housings that Are smoother (Tealios for example) where the housing is clear and almost like glass, a grease can actually add friction or drag so it’s better to use an oil like Krytox 104 or 105. In Short - The Class60 is a Leaf-spring/Top dual mounting 60% Keyboard, we kept the beloved Buzzer & Solenoid feature from the previous board the Class80 and on top also added the support for QMK&VIAL compatible capacitive PCB (we use the “T” word) and an optional wrist rest to enlarge the chin of the keyboard.

Certain switches have more stem wobble and looser housings than others--you might want to add switch films to help with these issues during your lubing process. In time, Krytox GPL 205 grade 0 tends to separate slightly--you'll see a little coat of oil on top of the 205G0 grease. This is why you always want to shake well or mix your Krytox 205 grade 0 on a palette to give it its best integrity. Practice makes perfect, so don't be too harsh on yourself if you don't manage to have evenly lubed switches (or keyboard stabilizers) on your first attempt. And so you know, over time and use, Krytox 205 grade 0, and lubricants in general, will distribute itself where it needs to go inside the switch. In short, Krytox 205g0 is a white-colored grease that is semi-viscous, remains stable and keeps its integrity for a long time, is not harmful if you swallow it--don't do it, it tastes awful--and is non-conductive. What Krytox 205g0 is Used For Krytox™ GPL 205 Grease has a base oil viscosity of 160cSt at 40°C and is suitable for applications where temperatures range from -33°F to 400°F. Krytox™ GPL 205 is a white, buttery grease with the same chemical properties as the base oil it’s made with (Krytox™ GPL 105).

Honestly, if it’s easier to get one over the other then don’t fret too much about it. What’s with all the Numbers? The Krytox™ GPL 2EX lubricants are formulated using unique anti-rust additives. This grease is similar to Krytox™ GPL 22X series greases, but contains a non-nitrite anti-corrosion additive.Krytox™ XHT (extreme high temperature) oils, which have additional treatment to make them more thermally stable at temperatures over 300 °C (572 °F). Lubricant can not be cleaned with soap and water and is resistant to many solvents. Although the lubricant is chemically stable and non-hazardous please wear gloves and place a protective layer of drop-plastic below any working surface. Spills are difficult to clean, and the lubricant will transfer from an operators hands to any surface they may touch. Please clean up any accidents with a microfiber cloth. Most of these lubricants are pretty specialized. They were not designed for the keyboard community but we’ve adapted them to our needs. This means they are generally harder to find than your run of the mill Superlube or other household lubricants. This is slowly changing however, with more shops starting to sell moderately portioned lubricants in varying viscosities and even some specialized blends created within our community that are performing quite well! Today we are going to be taking a look at Kinetic Labs’ newest switch called the Moon V2 Linear Switch! The Moon V2 is an improvement from the Moon V1’s in 2 areas: better lube job, and tighter housings. The difference here is that the factory lube job ( Krytox 205g0) is now applied by hand instead of by a robot which will provide a much even experience when it comes to how much lube is on each switch.
