About this deal

Following the trend it started with the V8, Dyson has banished attachment release buttons from the V10, opting to place them on the accessories themselves. Find out how cordless vacuums measure up to traditional vacuum cleaners. We explain the pros and cons of cord-free cleaning.

We love this vacuum, This is the latest in a line of Dyson units that we've had over the years and we are truly amazed at how good this one is. The suction on low is more than adequate to clean up the every day mess from the cat fur and it gives a really useful run time. There have been a couple of occasions where we've used the higher settings and they really do the job. So far we've been able to do the whole house on one charge at low power and for that we are really pleased. The weight is a bit more than we expected but when you get tools connected it balances out just right and is not too much of a strain on the old arthritis. The price we paid was excellent and yes we know it's recon but you couldn't really tell, the recon job had been done very well. All the units in the box were in perfect condition and the battery only took an hour before it was ready to go. Emptying the bin is by far the best we've had and the mess slips easily into the waiting receptacle with no dust flooding out after the pet hair. We have bought some replacement filters as in past experience you are better off leaving the initial one longer than twenty four hours to dry. We are happy to recommend this V10 as we have all our previous vacuums and I am sure that the V11 is well worth a try as well Read full reviewThe V8 is less powerful than the V10 but it is a little lighter and easier to manipulate. The V11 is a touch more powerful, comes with a more effective cleaning head, better battery life in boost mode and an automatic, floor-type sensing cleaning head – but it’s heavier and a lot more expensive. Other notable attachments include the Mini Motorized Tool, which is great for vacuuming on stairs or upholstery, the pointed Rigid Crevice Tool, which lets you vacuum deep into corners and crevices, and the Flexi Crevice Tool, which features and extendable hose. This one's particularly useful for when you want to vacuum inside confined spaces, like the interior of a car. There’s a new layout to the components, too, which keeps the cleaning head, wand, dustbin and motor unit all in a straight line, enabling a straight-through air path, which Dyson says is more efficient. The new design also allows Dyson to squeeze in a 40% bigger dust container (it’s now 0.76l, up from 0.54l) and washable post motor and dust filters are now combined in one unit at the rear, which makes cleaning simpler than before. Our most powerful, lightweight cordless vacuum with De-tangling technology and single-button power control.

That said, such technological advancement comes with a hefty price tag, and it's likely that the V10 will be a tad too expensive for many potential buyers. You know that added power we were talking about earlier? We weren't kidding — the Dyson Cyclone V10 is as powerful as any corded vacuum the company has released so far. The takeaway, though, is that there is no difference between the motor unit you get across the different models, just the type and number of attachments. For me, the best value model is the Absolute, because this gets you all three motorised heads. The seven-cell, lithium-ion battery has the fade-free power to clean here, there, and everywhere around your home.

Say goodbye to corded vacuums forever

Next-day scheduled delivery may not be available during peak times. Instead, you can choose the next available slot. We apologise for any inconvenience. Though it produces 20% more suction than the V8's motor, it's half the size and weighs only 125g (0.27 pounds). The first thing you'll notice is that its various sections are positioned in completely different manner to previous V-series models. tested to EN 60312-1 CL5.8 and CL5.9 at the flexible inlet, against cord-free market, loaded to bin full, tested in MAX mode.

Since our initial review of the V10 was published, it’s been a big hit but Dyson has now released its successor – the Dyson Cyclone V11 – and it’s even better than the V10.Opening the bin is as simple as pushing down the red release valve under the unit, which slides the whole bin down in the process and expels any contents within.Admittedly, this plastic flap feels a little delicate, so we're hoping that it stands up to repeated use. Along with its technological advancements, the Dyson Cyclone V10 sports a number of other improvements which just make sense. It's our opinion that the V10's medium power setting, which will give you around 30 minutes of continuous usage, is the one you'll be using most of the time, with the maximum setting reserved for small vacuuming sessions and those occasions where you have really stubborn dirt trapped in your carpet or rugs. I have a mid-size 2 bedroom flat and with the power on 2, I can do the whole flat with plenty of charge still left on the battery. The tools/attachments are easy to attach/detatch and the bin emptying is very easy.
