The first Harry Potter coins were released just weeks after the passing of Her Majesty the Queen. Elizabeth II was succeeded by her son, King Charles III, on 8 September 2022. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is where the students attend and where much of the Harry Potter adventures happen. Often shortened to just “Hogwarts”, the British wizarding school is located in the Scottish Highlands and accepts magical students from Great Britain and Ireland for enrolment. J. K. Rowling revealed that Hogwarts is a state school, and the Ministry of Magic shoulders all of the school’s financial needs.
