About this deal

There are a few different ways to play the game and it is definitely one that will see us get more strategic about as we learn more as we play it. There are different sets you can buy such as Africa, or the USA, and it’s a great fun way to get to grips with geography as well as learning about capital cities and population as each card has this information on. I can already see lots of different possibilities for how we might use these in the future. This portable award winning family game is fun, easy to learn, educational and highly addictive and makes a great present for any family member interested in geography or travel. Mapominoes is a card game that comes in several guises (we’ve shown Europe here, but there’s also a few other versions) where you are seeking to be the first player to get rid of all your cards as all players collectively ‘build’ a map out of them. Last year one of D’s friends bought him Mapominoes (European version). I’m not sure why, but we never seemed to get around to playing it. I think birthday’s are often overwhelming with gifts so some things inevitably end up to one side. All transaction information passed between Guy's Magnets Ltd T/A MapsWorldwide and Sage Pay’s systems is encrypted using 128-bit SSL certificates. No cardholder information is ever passed un-encrypted and any messages sent to our servers from Sage Pay are signed using MD5 hashing to prevent tampering. You can be completely assured that nothing we pass to Sage Pay’s servers can be examined, used or modified by any third parties attempting to gain access to sensitive information.

Every county card is different and hence no two games are ever the same in this clever game that you will want to play again and again.

History

This portable game is fun, easy to learn, educational and highly addictive and makes a great present for any family member interested in geography or travel. Cleverly designed so that you don’t need to know your geography to play, but playing rapidly improves your knowledge. There are transit cards which you can use as the seas and the more you play the more tactical you can make the game. The game is simple enough for younger children to grasp and enjoy and there’s also a lot of strategic play that can be brought in for older players. Variations Widely recommended throughout the UK’s national press, Mapominoes UK is a portable travel game with a strong educational slant. Created by Wild Card Games, Mapominoes is a bit like dominoes, but uses counties as the playing pieces.

Anyhow, D recently asked us to play and we LOVE this game. Such a super clever concept and one that is teaching the children so much about Europe and we have loved it so much we have just about the Africa version. Once the information is in Sage Pay's systems, all sensitive data is secured using the same internationally recognised 256-bit encryption standards used by, among others, the US Government. The encryption keys are held on state-of-the-art, tamper proof systems in the same family as those used to secure VeriSign's Global Root certificate, making them all but impossible to extract. The data we hold is extremely secure and we are regularly audited by the banks and banking authorities to ensure it remains so. Mapominoes Africa is a portable game is fun, easy to learn, educational and highly addictive and makes a great present for any family member interested in geography or travel. The excitement builds as you have fewer and fewer cards left to play, but less space to play them in as you reach the table’s edge!
