On the bottom of the keyboard, you will find the built-in switch puller, the USB cable, and complimentary cable management system. The Fantom 7 makes use of two sound generators; for the realism and flexibility of acoustic piano sounds, the V-Piano Technology crafts piano sounds to every taste. The Zen-Core Engine allows complex layers and sequences to be created with great polyphony and 128 LFOs (Low-Frequency Oscillators) per voice for added texture and scope.

As with most budget keyboards, the keycaps on the Tecware Phantom are made of ABS plastic. ABS keycaps aren’t bad, but they will eventually develop a sheen from oils. For the more creative player, making use of the onboard tones and rhythms and being able to store them for future use is key, and the Fantom 7 has over 3,500 tones and 90 drum kits to choose from. At the press of a button, your sounds, patterns and complete performances can be saved as Scenes. You can access, chain, and change between scenes seamlessly. Many pro keyboard players use the popular SoundFont SF2 sample format when creating their multi-samples for use in live performance. Roland has now released converter software to allow uses of this format to convert their existing SF2 multi-sample files into the Fantom .SVZ format. Simply drag your SF2 file into the converter and it will create the .SVZ file, and it will even retain the original sampled-key and loop point information. As well as an expansive array of onboard tones and features, the connectivity on the Roland Fantom 7 is fully integrated, meaning not only can you simply connect to a PC, but DAWs and Plugins can be controlled from the synthesizer’s touch screen interface. Programs such as Logic and Mainstage can be controlled this way, and soft synth plugins can be mixed with the Fantom 7’s internal sounds and then integrated into scenes. Included Accessories
