About this deal

Countering the trapezoid effect when the projector must be placed off-center, such as simple placement on top of a table, vertical keystone adjusts the image for a professionally squared image. Keystone correction makes it simple to project ideally aligned images from a variety of locations. The TH671ST’s menu system is just like the one I’ve encountered on many previous BenQ projectors. If you want to avoid the detailed settings, just choose the Basic version which only gives you, well, the basics like input selection, picture modes, and the like. Tweakers and videophiles will want to choose Advanced for full access to all the calibration controls and features.

To determine the Throw Distance for where you should place your projector in the room, enter an image diagonal measurement number in the Image Size Zoom Lens Light Loss. The 1.2x zoom isn't large enough to curtail brightness significantly at the telephoto end of the lens. You can safely ignore the potential light loss when choosing how far to put the projector from the screen. Brilliant Color is a feature I’ve seen on pretty much every BenQ projector and it works differently with each model. The TH671ST’s implementation is subtle. You can barely tell a difference between the on and off setting. Ultimately, I preferred the picture with it left off.Vivid TV mode has a slight blue shift from neutral, which is much less of an issue than a green shift for most people, and in any case is slight enough that you're not likely to notice it without a reference image to compare it with.

Fast Mode is the input lag control and you can leave it on all the time if you wish. It lowers latency and doesn’t affect normal video content in any visible way. It will certainly improve the gaming experience though. Low Lamp Mode. Compared with the full power mode, Economic mode reduces brightness by about 36%. Two other settings, SmartEco and LampSave, are dynamic power modes that are intended to lenghthen lamp life by adjusting the power level based on scene content. With a standard 100% white image, we measured SmartEco at the same brightness as Normal power mode. LampSave peaked at 1,767 ANSI lumens in Bright mode, just a touch brighter than Economic mode. BenQ says there is no noticeable effect on the image with these modes, nor did we observe any.

Calculating a Throw Distance when you know the IMAGE SIZE

TH671ST maximises thrills in minimal space, requiring as little as 1.5m to project stunning 100” pictures. The shortened throw enables carefree enjoyment without space constraints or setup hassles. fit your image onto a screen you need a projection calculator tool or throw chart to tell you the image size dimensions at the corresponding lumens of high brightness let you watch in relatively bright settings or even with lights on. Perfect for meeting rooms. The BenQ TH671ST offers the advantage of Keystone Correction. This handy feature offers great benefits when installing. With the ability to digitally shift the image by +/- 40 degrees in the vertical plain, the TH671ST can be fitted in more awkward locations and enables a wider choice of screen options. The perfect resolution for Blu-ray and gaming, 1080p Full HD gives noticeably more detail than standard HD resolution. Suddenly, you'll see texture in the grass on the pitch, subtle detail in wildlife documentaries and a whole new depth of image. The larger the screen and the closer you sit the greater the benefit, making 1080p more impressive on a projector at home compared to a TV.
