About this deal

Prior to being "acquired" by Ash Williams, the shotgun was owned by Raymond Knowby, who presumably used it for hunting on the property which the Knowby Cabin was located. It is unknown if Raymond bought the gun new or second-hand. When you press Triangle, Ash will say a funny comment. Later in the game, he gains the ability to say different comments. For example, when in Downtown Dearborn, he says, “What time is it? Bah, what do you care, you’re dead.” In the Outskirts of Dearborn he is incapable of saying this.

This fight is pretty easy... if you know what to do. If not, you'll be throwing your controller, scratching your head or whatever it is you do to cope. You begin the fight with a shovel in your hand. That should be your first hint. Obfuscating Stupidity: Both Dr. Eldridge and Trisha Pettywood. Dr. Eldridge pretends to be an Absent-Minded Professor who's way out of his depth in studying the Necronomicon, while Trisha pretends to be a flirty, air-headed TV presenter. They're actually trying to use the Kandarian summoning stone to Take Over the World. Demonic Possession: Deadites are once again possessing humans. This time around, Ash can possess them too with a right spell, complete with the famous Raimi-cam. After the Necronomicon is read aloud in a local television program, Deadites are running amok in the small town of Dearborn, Michigan. It's once again up to Ash ( Bruce Campbell) to fix things up by killing every sorry-ass deadite in his way and even travelling through time. There are two modes of play here, story mode and arcade mode, while the former is the chief bulk of the game, and the latter is kind of a “replay value” after thought. There are some good puzzle solving moments in the game, which often require some lateral thinking, and good observation of your surroundings, and also having to make full use of everything at your disposal. It must be said, history dictated contemporary Evil Dead outings always had their home on the Playstation formats, and this rendition of the game is PS-2 shovel-ware in the first degree, with the only things to remind you you’re not sitting in front of that aforementioned machine are the grooves of your controller, and the obligatory saving to the Box’ hard disk. But all is not lost however, cause’ the game proves itself to be not half bad on its own merits. When you get to the Dearborn police station, the yard where you need to go is surrounded by Deadites. You do not have to kill any of them. First, find the Spell Scroll that allows you to posses a Deadite for a limited amount of time,.This spell takes up three mana. Posses a Deadite, then run to the other side of the yard. You will find the Cypher and a envelope that you must take to the auto body shop. Note: The police Deadites will not recognize you as Ash, but the others will.

The main problem with the graphics is that they start to blend together, level to level. Many of the areas look the same, and there isn't a lot of differentiation between buildings, streets, etc. In addition, the palette is boring… full of grays and greens that smear together. Basic combat is actually quite satisfying, given that your basic weapons are the most macho things imaginable, a sawed-off shotgun and a chainsaw mounted on the stump of your arm. Especially cool is Ash's move of shooting over his own shoulder, spaghetti-western style. And you'll soon find it useful: deadites come at you in large swaths, making for frantic action. Go down it. You will immediately be swarmed by a mob of Deadites. Lure them out into the exhibit room, so you have space to operate, and take them down. In a little nook at the bottom of the ramp is a Save Token. Grab it and head through the arched doorway. Continue through the next chamber, then follow the long set of stairs as it winds down to a banquet room. Move through and make your way to a dirt path that connects to a grand hall. Grab another Save Token at the center of the room. Then move up the curved staircase and step through the dark arched door to face the boss. Medical bags can be collected at some points, and stored in inventory, to top up your health when necessary. On occasion, deadites will drop a mini health kit, that will give you a small health increase instantly. This article's plot summary may be too long or excessively detailed. “It's dangerous to go alone, take this!”

The game is based on the game engine of State of Emergency, with very similar gameplay. Essentially it's a free-roaming beat-em-up with 360 degree aiming gunplay. Artistic License – History: Confederate troops never came anywhere near Michigan during the Civil War. Wait until he is walking toward a barrel and gets close to it. Then, shoot the barrel and it will explode, flipping him over. Start shooting him after he flips over. Later in the fight, he will start charging you. When this happens, run along the walls until he runs into one, then start shooting him. Ash himself does look the part, though his face is a single bitmap which doesn’t animate, and this is also true for all in-game character models. Put simply, it’s just a very lazy straight conversion, which is unfortunately so common on the Box’. The visuals here aren’t bad per say, though suffer greatly from absolutely no enhancements for the superior hardware. The colours here are quite bland, with much brown and grey covering the scenes, which gives it all this sort of dull unappealing look about it.

Fans of the movies will get into the game simply because Bruce Campbell's constant dialogue infuses the action with enough personality to separate it from the other action titles. Straight-up action fans might get bored with the game halfway through, but after all, the game costs half as much. After assuming control of his father's hardware store, Ash also acquired a shotgun shell reloading press, which recycles spent empty shells and refills them with powder and shot.We couldn't find some of the information and covers for this game. When more accurate information or covers are obtained, the entry will be updated adding the missing information. This facet of the game adds something unique to the game mechanics, which proves to be a welcome addition. You normally receive tasks from talking to various characters found throughout the game world, and they will usually concern gaining access to a certain place, or locating a specific person, or persons, obtaining objects, among some other more specific things.
