About this deal

The 300c includes a 65-degree reflector, or you have a 90-degree beam angle if you remove the kit reflector and go with the “bare bulb.” That same included kit reflector on the 150c creates a 63-degree beam angle or an 83-degree beam angle if a reflector isn’t attached. Both fixtures use the ubiquitous Bowens S-Type mount, the advantage being that the mount opens up a wide range of available 1st and 3rd party accessories. Keep in mind that results may vary as accessory manufacturers have designed different accessories with various lights in mind — they won’t all be compatible despite using the Bowens S-Type. amaran 150c. For filmmakers and content creators who need a compact, affordable, full-color point-source LED light with a simple user experience and Bowens Mount modifiability, the amaran 150c and 300c are the perfect answers. For maximum convenience, both fixtures can be wirelessly controlled with other Aputure and amaran via the Sidus Link mobile app, creating a finely tunable lighting ecosystem to be used on set or even from in-front of the camera. The new amaran 150c and 300c lights include a redesigned high-efficiency heat sink and silent active cooling system. Using the same foundational RGBWW technology as professional fixtures like the Aputure LS 600c Pro, the amaran 150c and 300c produce stunning color quality throughout their expanded bi-colour CCT range of 2,500K to 7,500K with green-magenta adjustment and 360° HSI color control with >90% coverage of the Rec.2020 Color Space. And with high CRI/TLCI [95+], SSI (D56) [71], and SSI (Tungsten) [83] scores, the both fixtures can reliably output color-accurate light to achieve faithfulto-life skin tones. The amaran 150c and 300c also punch well above their weight classes, outputting 15,610 lux (5600K) and 26,580 lux (5600K) respectively using their included Hyper Reflectors. Both fixtures feature a minimalist control interface that blends into the body for a simple yet elegant lamp head design, removing the need for a control box. The dual rear-facing side handles and redesigned Bowens Mount release latch even allow for ergonomic adjusting of the fixture wherever it is rigged. Aputure has yet to release, or even say a whole lot at all, about its Sidus DMX system, but it will allow you to use DMX to control Sidus Link-compatible units, that don’t natively support DMX. Essentially, it will act as a translator between the two systems to add that DMX remote control functionality where it didn’t exist before. This means it’ll work with the Amaran 150C and 300C, as well as previous Amaran lights, like the 60/100/200 D/X S models ( buy here), the PT1C, PT2C, PT4C Pixel Tubes ( buy here) and even the SM5c flexible LED strip ( buy here).

The two lights offer a new form factor for the company. It’s very different to everything they’ve released in the past. They’re a little bit bigger than the Amaran 100D and 200D to account for the extra electronics and power requirements – as well as the larger heatsink and fan – so they needed to be redesigned. This larger design, however, has its advantages. The larger fan means that it can spin more slowly to shift the same amount of air and keep the unit cool. And a slower fan means a quieter fan. The amaran 300c also punches well above its weight class, outputting 26,580 lux (5600K) using the included Hyper Reflector combined with 0-100% dimming control.

Both lights score an impressive SSI (Tungsten) rating of 83 and SSI (D56) rating of 71, putting them near the top of their respective product categories when it comes to true colour accuracy.
