About this deal

If you do want that "original pressing" sound and are willing to invest the time online, there are ways of compiling a cheaper collection that sounds closer to the original UK stampers. The vinyl set includes a 108-page book which also includes many rare photographs of the Beatles in Abbey Road Studio, fascinating EMI archive documents and evocative articles sourced from 1960s publications. As a cutting engineer, anything of significance level above 16kHz is dangerous, you don’t want that going to your cutter head because it gets very hot and can destroy it.

All formats offer a new stereo mix by Giles Martin and Sam Okell, sourced “directly from the original four-track master tapes” and utilising Peter Jackson’s WingNut Films’ cutting edge ‘de-mixing’ technology, which allows the separation of music previously ‘bounced down’ and fused together on one track. There may be a hundred reasons to these differences stated here relating to our ears, our respective hi-fi systems, our expectations, our tonal likes/dislikes…and so on. and Yellow Submarine Songtrack have also received re-releases akin to the presentation of the 2009 remasters. It is the second complete box set collection of original Beatles recordings after The Beatles Box Set (1988). There are plenty of minor differences between the mono and stereo mixes which can be spotted by the fan: a few extra seconds of music here, a different sound effect there. The sixteen-disc collection contains the remastered stereo versions of every album in the Beatles catalogue.

The fact that the discs were cut by the Beatles original cutting engineer means you are getting very authentic versions of the songs. His best cutting was on the green vinyl edition, in which I actually prefer over the -2/-1 original. The Stereo Box also features a DVD which contains all the short films that are on the CDs in QuickTime format. There are sound excerpts from various songs, accompanied by still photos, clips of television appearances, footage from inside recording sessions, film footage from their final photo session, and material from the five Beatles films A Hard Day's Night, Help!I’m doing this off top of my head, as it’s easy to get confused with catalog numbers ,and Capitol Records “ Fold Down “ in verso. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, all the mono mixes were done together with the Beatles themselves, throughout the recording of the album, whereas the stereo mixes were done in only six days by Abbey Road personnel George Martin, Geoff Emerick and Richard Lush after the album had been finished, with none of the Beatles attending.
