I never know which is in which bag, but my kid usually wants all of them so all I have to do is make sure I know how many there are – count the number of figures on the cover – and then make sure I have that many different numbers. If there’s 6 guys on the cover, make sure you’ve got 6 distinct numbers. In the case of Series 2 we’re dealing with 8 of ’em, so we need 8 different numbers. I should also point out that the numbers may or may not be sequential. For instance, let’s say there’s a set of 4 (I’ve never seen one that small, just trying to cut down on the numbers here) and you’ve found numbers 64, 65, and 67. While it would make sense that your missing figure is 66, that may not be true. It could definitely be 63 or 68, though I’ve never seen it skip more than one number. Not sure what the missing number is about; it doesn’t represent a “secret” character or anything ‘cuz I’ve been through entire boxes of these retaining that oddly missing number.

And one last piece of advice if you’re a novice: the little codes can be tough to read, so make sure you look at them closely. It can be easy to mistake 8’s for 3’s and vice versa.Yeti? YAY! Snowboarder? BOO! This is 100% repaint using the figure and mask from the Series 2 Bigfoot and the snowboard comes from the Series 4 Snowboarder. At least the snowboard kind of better justifies that this is just a guy in a costume rather than an actual Yeti (like in the Target exclusive line). Aside from the addition of a blue bandana on his head, his face is identical to the Bigfoot guy, implying that this is actually the same dude - a first for the line. It's a testament to how good the sculpt is of the body and mask that this looks quite good in the Yeti colors and even feels more different than it actually is. Part of that sense is the new face deco on the Yeti mask, which features angry yellow eyes with pink bags under them and the suggestion of an open mouth. I really must confess I like this much more than I expected to or feel like I should. He's fun and cool! (no pun icetended) The Imaginext Bind Bag series are things I really, really enjoy but I've found them increasingly tough to find over the last several waves series. Fortunately, this sixth series of the DC ones seemed to be a return to ample distribution so I was thrilled when I was able to snag myself a full set in a single go last year!

John Stewart here is a pretty nice figure and a decent repaint of some armor-y body. It's not quite accurate but it's a good mashup of costume and available tooling. Weirdly, they used a pale green plastic which doesn't seem very right for John. There's also something a bit off about the head (a bit too "inverted pear"-shaped, I think) and the power ring is just a dot of paint on his hand rather than a raised part of the sculpt like on Sinestro. I kind of have to wonder how the figures would have looked if they'd swapped the bodies used for Sinestro and John, here. He also, bizarrely, comes with the armor and weapon from the Chinese Warrior in Blind Bag series 5... they do look kinda neat in translucent green, but make absolutely no sense for this character at all. Overall, this Green Lantern is fine, but he's definitely not as strong of a release as the previous three figures.Wish I knew about the numbers sooner. Just learning this. My son is a collector of the dc imaginext. He has the very first toys that came out and has played with them for years! They are the best toys for 4 year olds. He is now 12 and he still loves finding the new characters. How many sets have they released so far? I feel like I’m so far behind. I don't know that I'd ever heard of Catman before the Mattel figure, and he certainly does feel like a bit of a bottom-barrel character and effort... Basically "what if he just looks like Batman? Yeah! But orange and yellow! Sure. And... and give him Wolverine claws, too! Alright..." This figure captures that pretty well, despite a little bit of masking issues with the paint, mainly around the belt. I presume this is just a repaint of any number of Batman figures, but he does get some brand-new tooling is the guise of new hands sporting the "totally not a Wolverine ripoff" (I mean, he's almost wearing Wolverine's colors for crying out loud!) claws. The sculpts are nice and surprisingly more detailed and pointier than I'd expected from Imaginext. He come with a silver briefcase with a dollar sign on it because he's a hashtag-Villain. That, or just a hyper-paranoid hero with the power to not trust banks. This dude is another weird one-off, that I'd seen described as "post-apocalyptic" somewhere, so I'll go with it (maybe he can fight the Welder guy from Series 8). This is the kind of figure I buy just to complete the set. I suppose he's fine for what he is, with a bulging mutant left arm/hand and right leg/foot, plus some bubbling on his head, but I don't really "get it." The biker outfit seems a bit incongruous and the fire hydrant accessory is well done but an odd, if not confusing, choice. Does this guy look familiar? He might well because he's a repaint of two Series 4 figure - the Boxer but with the Basketball Player's head! He even gets a re-color of the boxer's practice dummy. At least they did swap the heads out, which helps make this guy feel more different (but if they wanted to go with a 'fro I would have preferred they grab the Disco stud's head with the sideburns - that would have been more fun/cool!). It is cool that they gave this guy a new face print, with a goatee and even a missing tooth. I had honestly forgotten about the previous Boxer but now that I'm reminded I'm quite happy to have an opponent for both!
