Echinaforce tablets has a modulating effect on the immune response. The alkylamides are the active components in Echinaforce tablets. They bind specifically to the CB2-receptor, an endo-cannabinoid receptor. Through this linkage, activation of the gene for tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) takes place. The reaction to pathogens with Echinaforce results in a modulated release of TNF-alpha and acts to produce a long-lasting response of the immune system. tablet contains 380 mg of extract (as dry extract) from fresh Echinacea purpurea (L) Moench herb (1:7.5-14.6) and 20 mg of extract (as dry extract) from fresh Echinacea purpurea (L) Moench root (1:7.1-12.5).
