We understand that there are essential items which you need to purchase for your pet on a regular basis, such as food and medication. I have used frontline on my pets for years and although I occasionally find a flea on my cat it is generally very effective. It is important to apply the dose to an area where the animal cannot lick off and to make sure that animals do not lick each other after treatment. FRONTLINE Plus® is the most advanced formula within the FRONTLINE® range of flea and tick treatments for cats. It can be applied to cats from 8 weeks of age that weigh at least 1 kg and ferrets from 6 months of age.
Since then I have cats of my own and have always used it regularly on them and there's never been a flea in sight.Bathing/shampooing/water exposure does not affect the efficacy of the product as long as it doesn’t occur more than once a week. It has an insecticidal efficacy against new infestations of adult fleas for 8 weeks, and will prevent their multiplication by inhibiting the development of eggs, larvae, and pupae for 8 weeks after application. FRONTLINE Plus also contains an important addition of (S)-methoprene which works to prevent the multiplication of fleas by killing fleas in their immature stages (eggs, larvae and pupae). Fipronil kills ticks (Dermacentor reticulatus, Dermacentor variabilis, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Ixodes scapularis, Ixodes ricinus, Haemaphysalis longicornis, Haemaphysalis flava, Haemaphysalis campanulata) and lice within 48 hours post-exposure. It is good practice to use a preventative flea treatment anyway as prevention is always easier than treatment when it comes to external parasites.
Unlike other flea treatments, FRONTLINE Plus® kills ticks too, helpingto reduce the risk of tick-borne disease transmission. Frontline do not make a worming spot on however you can use Dronspot, this is a spot on that covers roundworms and tapeworms. My dogs run in Moorland, when its its not nesting time, and pick up ticks, particularly the smaller smoother haired spaniel. They die by 'excitation' so it is expected to see increased flea activity during this 48 hour period as the fleas are killed. It is not advised to use all the pipettes at the same time, you should dose monthly as per the datasheet.I thought that Stella's skin condition was down to mites but it turns out she had fleas, which hadn't even crossed my mind because she's treated with 'the best' flea treatment. However this is a bird specific mite and so it should not be able to cause an infestation in your dog.
My cat had really thin fur where he scratched so much, within a month it had grown back and now after treating him for 3 months he has got no fleas and a lovely coat again! Miliary Dermatitis is clinical sign rather than a diagnosis in itself, a bit like saying your cat has a crusty rash. I always use indorex in the house alongside flea treatments and have never had this issue with advantage. I used another flea treatment last month and no fleas, sores are all healed and fur growing back because she's not gnawing at herself constantly.Hold the pipette upright facing away from you and tap the neck to ensure the contents are in the main body of the pipette.
FRONTLINE Plus for Medium Dogs is a topical application for the treatment of flea infestations, alone or in association with ticks and/or biting lice in medium breed dogs weighing >10 - 20kg. Its a good idea just to keep hold of your cat for a few seconds after applying as if the cat shakes itself immediately after application some of the fluid can be shaken off.FRONTLINE Spot On for Cats is for use in the treatment of fleas and the prevention of infestations by fleas and ticks or as part of a treatment strategy for Flea Allergy Dermatitis.
