About this deal

This will remove all the network information from your thermostat. Your thermostat will no longer be connected to the internet and it'll forget the WI-Fi credentials. Because of different hardware designs, the displays and bases of various Nest thermostat models are not interchangeable even though they may look similar. The display connector and system wire connectors vary from model to model. Please see the first two sections in this article for more details. Touch bar on the right side of the ring: also comes in different colors (Refer to the colors below).

The display connector on the thermostat base is different for all three generations of the Nest Learning Thermostat. In addition, the connectors for the system wires are different between thermostat models. WARNING: If you attempt to connect parts from different thermostat models, it may damage your thermostat as well as your system. If your system doesn’t have a C-wire or if it was already securely attached, you may need to charge your battery manually. The Nest Thermostat E and 2nd- and 3rd-gen Nest Learning thermostats can be charged using a micro-USB cable. For a 1st-gen Nest Learning Thermostat, you’ll need a mini-USB cable instead. A blinking green light indicates that your thermostat is receiving a Google software update. This is completely normal, and it should only take a few minutes to complete. As long as the thermostat base is from the same model, generation and country/region as the thermostat display, you can swap bases and displays.

Give each of those fixes a chance to resolve your network problem before moving on. Interference problems are the next most likely culprit, especially if you’ve been adding more items to your network. Try shutting off devices and—if possible—moving the nest and router closer together to see if that fixes the connection issue. The software update may run again at that point, but the steady green light should be gone. 2. Nest Thermostat Blinking Red Light or Low Battery Important: Remove your thermostat from your account in the app before you reset it to factory default. Use this reset option if you move your thermostat to a new location in your home, or if you've had your home remodelled. Your thermostat will learn about its new location in a few days.Your thermostat can only read the temperature where it is located. Temperatures in other areas of your home may be significantly different. Adding a Nest temperature sensor to your system can help if you have a large home or if your Nest is located in a particularly hot or cool area of your home. The Nest Thermostat can be in different colors. If you have a thermostat that looks like one of these, you have a Nest Thermostat. The 3rd genNest Learning Thermostat’s stainless steel ring can also be in different colors. If you have a thermostat ring that looks likeone of these, you have a 3rd gen Nest LearningThermostat. Finally, you may need to take a look at the control unit fuse on your HVAC system. There’s a white, u-shaped wire inside the fuse. If that wire is broken, the fuse is blown.

Important: Before you reset your thermostat, write down the wiring information so you can easily enter your thermostat's wiring if needed. On your thermostat, go to Settings Equipment. You might want to do this for other settings, such as system heating type and Safety Temperature as well. Nest Thermostat This option will remove all your personal settings and restore your thermostat to factory default settings.
