About this deal

Oil: Both air fryers and toaster ovens significantly reduce the amount of oil required in cooking. Whereas you'd perhaps typically slosh oil around a frying pan or baking tray, a minimal spritz is required with air fryers and toaster ovens. We were also impressed by the 'toast' function; as simple as it sounds, nailing the just-right balance when cooking toast can be a struggle for some conventional toasters. However, the Smart Oven managed two slices of perfectly browned, crunchy toast in about two minutes flat, free from burnt edges or caught-in-the-toaster crusts. Size: An air fryer will typically be smaller than a toaster oven, making them better suited to smaller kitchens and easier to store on organized countertops. A toaster oven will often boast a bigger capacity that's suited to larger food items, or bigger quantities. From 0°C to 180°C in three minutes and up to 230°C in just under five, this is one speedy mini oven for all you impatient cooks and bakers out there. The vast majority of appliances and mini ovens need somebody to adjust the settings, control most of the work and keep a beady eye over the proceedings while it is in operation.

The controls are a bit stiff to turn and get just right, but we liked how each setting was clearly defined by its own marker, so there is no guesswork needed. If the timer is selected, it will automatically turn off when it hits the ‘0’ mark; there is no risk of it being left on overnight – great if you live in student accommodation or are just a bit forgetful. Easy to use, this mini oven has an LCD touch display, and is an ideal appliance to replace ovens in caravans or for keeping on worktops. Ease of maintenance: Cleaning an air fryer or toaster oven is typically a very easy task and therefore minimal effort to look after.Offering an awful lot for a small oven, this model from Morphy Richards is a definite option for anyone who will be relying on it a lot for their cooking needs, for instance, if your current large one is broken or you’ve had to turn the Aga off for summer. Heating elements: An air fryer is a convection oven that circulates hot air throughout the appliance. A toaster oven will typically have two heating elements, one at the top and one at the bottom of the appliance. Range of cooking options: Both products will offer you a wide selection of cooking modes to ensure you can cook food exactly as you wish to.When considering this, do also be mindful of how the product's height might impede the range of food types you can use it for.

Budget: This will obviously be a big consideration when it comes to choosing the best toaster oven air fryer for your home. While some air fryers can comfortably cost three figures, you might be surprised by how cheap you can find models by reputable brands. Because there is a smaller space, the heat can be more concentrated on your food, too, so less energy is wasted. Last little gripette is the hobs when fully panned up and hot cause the top 'plate' to sink in slighty but this does rebound when cool tho might be a problem over time. Beefing that up and maybe some insulation would be the only manufacturing recommendations I'd suggest Mebbe that's the deluxe version and you get what you pay for and for what we paid we're very happy (now we're looking at getting a freezer to go with it . . . ) If your chosen model comes with a crumb tray, this will help your cleaning massively. It will be able to catch any crumbs from bread or dripping fat or cheese from bacon/cheese on toast. All you will need to do is remove this when cleaning and that is job done. Are Mini Ovens Expensive To Run? One thing we really did like is the clear temperature adjustments, signalled by dots as the heat increases. Other ovens simply point out intervals and getting 190°C, for instance, would be a bit of a guessing game. But there would be no wondering whether you have the exact setting with this item.

Specification

Air fryers are one of those things where sometimes you’re unsure as to how they work – but we can assure you they are incredibly simple to use and produce great tasting fried food using little to no oil. Using hot air which is rapidly circulated around the cooking chamber, these health fryers create deliciously golden and crispy fried foods without the need for deep frying. All in all, the Ninja Foodi 8-in-1 Mini Oven is a great choice if you're looking for a strong all-rounder that offers an impressive range of functionality as well as an easy-use cooking experience. We also loved the flip-up design element, which means it's suitable for kitchens of all sizes (Ninja suggests it takes up 50% less space than other models); it's a real stand-out detail in a market that perhaps typically veers toward the counter-hogging. Additionally, Ninja is a name you can trust: the brand is synonymous with high-quality air fryer products, and the Foodi 8-in-1 Mini Oven is no exception to the rule.

Whereas a lot of other mini ovens with hobs don’t allow you to use them both at the same time, with this model you can (although the heat with the hobs is slightly compromised). Still sufficient if you want to simmer some frozen vegetables while your lasagne is cooking, and each has three warmth settings which can be controlled independently to one another too. Initially was concerned that there's no seperate heat controls for hob, grill or oven function. It's pretty much all or nothing but this isn't as problematic as first thought and even us blokes can multi-task with this unit. The heating elements for grill and oven seemed inadequate but perform very well.

Summary

We loved its cool aesthetic too. In brushed stainless steel, it looks really modern and is probably one of the more 'stylish' air fryer toaster ovens out there. Its one obvious downside is that hefty price tag but if you've got the cash to spend, it's a brilliant investment for your kitchen. The needs of every mini oven are different, but if you’re buying for a specific reason then there will be some very important aspects to look out for:

No matter your reasoning for wanting a mini oven, this Cookworks model will be sufficient enough to handle all of your cooking and foodie needs. Adjustable - The mini oven's temperature and timer can be adjusted. The temperature ranges from 70 to 230 degrees Celsius and the timer from 0 to 60 minutes. Once the timer ends, the appliance will automatically switch off. The product boasts a generous capacity 22l capacity across three different tray positions, meaning you can fit in everything from cake trays to a large meat joint. We tested out a couple of recipes from the product's accompanying recipe book: the Deep Dish Apple Pie was juicy and crispy, while the air-fried sweet potato wedges were such a hit that we cooked them three nights consecutively.Heat is given from a convection fan method, so it is spread evenly throughout the entire cooking chamber and will not fluctuate during cooking. Five quartz heating elements adjust throughout the process and get the heat to where it is needed. Don’t be put off by the basic looks and low capacity of this De’Longhi mini oven – it certainly proves itself when in use.
