The material which is used to create the tape is air and moisture permeable, which allows air to circulate around the wound or injury. Hypafix is available in three different widths (as outlined below), all of which are 10 metres in length. Place the dressing on a flat surface and and peel off one half of the protective film with thumb and index finger. It consists of a thin breathable polyurethane film coated with a skin-friendly adhesive that reliably protects against water, bacteria and contaminants, while still providing breathability and a high moisture vapor transmission rate. Sometimes known as ‘Dressing Retention’ or Surgical Adhesive Tape’, Fixation Tape is a non-woven, soft polyester tape with a hypoallergenic medical grade polyacrylate adhesive. If you are working with a long strip of FIXATION TAPE, we would recommend sticking one end to a bed or bench to help you maintain control over the roll as you peel it. Transverse stretch provides excellent conformability, even on contoured body areas such as knee, elbow and shoulder.Place the dressing on a flat surface and peel off one half of the protective film with thumb and index finger. The tape transversely stretches, is highly conformable, and easy to apply, even on difficult joint areas. Cut off an appropriate length using a pair of clean, sharp scissors to prevent the shredding of edges and contamination. If you cover your wounds with a bandage or frequently wear non-breathable materials, skin maceration can form in the area you have covered.
