About this deal

I think the interior is probably the weakest section of the model, with only enough space for one passenger, squeezed right behind the driver. There is ample luggage space though, housing a suitcase, another slice of pizza and a dark blue cap, adorned with the Avengers logo. The cap also appears in 76269 Avengers Tower and presumably belongs to the taxi driver, although he cannot really wear it with his double-sided head.

Either that or he’s using this as a front to deliver doughnuts to high-flying guests staying at the Boutique Hotel. Maybe I'm misunderstadning something you have written, but BP appeared with claws also in his on mech ( 76204 )." Billund, November 8, 2023: The LEGO Group today announces its biggest set within the LEGO® Marvel collection to date – the new iconic LEGO Marvel Avengers Tower set.In fact, just the stairs and upper bar area would probably have done to 'sacrifice' parts. The taxi looks awesome, it's so nice getting vintage cars in Lego (and we rarely ever get them) so it's very annoying that they are all GWP these days. Good review! It's definitely charming and a beautiful match for nostalgic vibes of the Modular Buildings Collection. The only other set I remember with old-school curved fenders like this was 70911, and needless to say that was at a far more exaggerated scale! It's a great demonstration of how useful the 1x3 inverted arch can be for automotive detailing. Looking at the box design with the shared sand green strip, and the design of the taxi, and just how well it fits into the Boutique Hotel, it’s clear that LEGO probably meant for the Vintage Taxi GWP to be released alongside the Boutique Hotel at launch on 1 January, but supply chain delays probably meant that they couldn’t make the timing work. And I think a big part of why LEGO was able to work side-by-side seating into those earlier vehicles in the Modular Buildings Collection is that they were vehicle types with no roof, no side windows, and either flat side walls or none at all! All these factors made it quite a bit easier for them to deal with the minifigure's awkward, unwieldy proportions. The vehicle looks sleek, streamlined and luxurious: in fact, far too good for use as a taxi: it's more like a limousine. The prominent curved wheel arches front and rear give it the appearance of a typical luxury 1930s car like a Rolls Royce Phantom or Citroen Traction Avant

The set was provided for review by LEGO. All opinions expressed are those of the author. Box and Contents The inclusion of the flat cap is very nice and just adds to the characters look, along with the suitcase, that of course has a donut inside. Thank you for reading through our review of the LEGO Vintage Taxi (40532) set, we hope you e joyed it as much as we did. Yeah, he probably just likes donuts. Enough to carry them around in a briefcase. (In fact, this could be the Donut Thief from the Police Station Modular!) A single minifigure is included. He's a shady-looking character who bears more than a passing resemblance to the newsstand operator and alleged doughnut thief in 10278 Police Station. In fact, there are baked goods in his case that further strengthen the clues to his identity.

The same can't perhaps be said for LEGO's marketing of it, though. It requires an astronomical spend to obtain it, and it's unfortunate that it was not available as soon as 10297 Boutique Hotel was released at the beginning of the year. Early adopters of the new modular, for which it was clearly designed to complement, may feel short-changed. As design standards have continued to change and evolve — such as with molded wheel arches and curved elements becoming more ubiquitous on LEGO vehicles — the practicality of those traditional door pieces has diminished further and further. Being such a small set there aren’t numbers on the bags but there are three of them in total and an instruction manual, which again is nice and small, perfect to slip into the box.
