I fell immediately in to the story, swept away by the descriptions of the open desert landscapes, the reassuring details of a life lived close to horses, and most of all, the vivacity of Christa. I was a little surprised however that while Christa’s parents were very concerned about Christa taking part in the rescue, they didn’t seem much concerned about Christa’s sister taking part even though they were riding together and their roles were equally dangerous. I read Christa's luck in one sitting (lucky I had it on my kindle as I was able to read while walking the dog, eating lunch and throughout other chores! I went to market and festival in October, went on vacation in November, and then promptly got sick in December. I meant Christa dying of screen, the baby wasn't really an important character, so i understand why he/she was killed offscreen. After Omid died, she probably knew there was absolutely no way that the baby could survive and she could keep the three of them safe.
