About this deal

This is mind spinning, complex, absolutely deeply layered and well written small town murder mystery! She watches them for a bit. Clemmie is not bendy. Seren sympathizes. They did yoga in PE, and Seren spent the whole time trying not to fart.” Mia Williams – Ffion’s friend, 2 years ahead of Ffion in school – she is the cleaner for The Shores Overall: this is not my all time favorite work of the author but the writing is so good. It was long and keeping taps on lots of characters was a little exhausting but I still enjoy to get lost in this smart, challenging murder mystery! The ending was heartbreaking and moving! October before. Rhys. They get to the Shore for mid-term break. No one is happy to be there. He sees Mia cleaning in Bobby’s lodge and makes a move on her – from his point of view, she really wants it. They are interrupted by something. Later, Clemmie goes to take a swim but needs to get rescued by Angharad, who says she will teach her and Caleb how to sail. We find out that Rhys is doing poor financially and his agent Fleur has made a campaign to have Rhys send a signed photo to his fans and they take a picture of them with the autograph and post it with a hashtag to get sales stirring.

This book is deeply layered, with all the connections and relationships that are going on. Things we think are true, are not and some things we never even considered are happening right in front of us. Everyone in this book seems like they have a motive and the author kept me guessing until the very end! Everyone in this book has a secret, and Rhys has the most! December 27. Steffan. Steffan finds out that Rhys was never going to give him the business and was setting up a sports shop at The Shore. His lakeside holiday homes are a success, and he’s generously invited the village to drink champagne with their wealthy new neighbours. This will be the party to end all parties. The book the transfers over to Leo Brady’s point of view. He is a Detective Constable for Cheshire Major Crimes Unit. He is off to identify the body that has washed up. It is believed to be a missing person that was reported from The Shore, Rhys Lloyd. The next day, Leo looks into the stalking and threats that Rhys filed complaints about. His ex wife Allie shows up to tell him she is moving to Australia with her boyfriend and taking Harris with. We find out that Leo left Harris alone and he was scared – that’s what Allie is holding over his head. Every character is interesting and all of the relationships are thoughtful and realitist. I truly never wanted this book to end and I look forward to book #2. If you like a good police procedural, a mystery with lots of human interest or just want to visit a charming town with secrets, The Last Party is for you! In this story, an influential musician disappears, and later found dead, after a New Year’s Eve party that he was hosting. This is basically a closed door mystery because it takes place on a small Welsh island and practically the entire town was at the party. Now, Ffion has to find the murderer in an island full of suspects. He’s celebrating the success of his lakeside holiday homes, and has generously invited the village to drink champagne with their wealthy new neighbours. Leo and Ffion go looking for Seren. She is no where to be found but then turns out she went to Stefan’s boat shop and took Angharad’s boat – which had a hole in the hull. But the deeply layered character stories, Wales and England detectives’ forced teaming up, elaborated descriptions of the area, smart dialogues, the plot line about multiple suspects keeping ugly secrets including main character, well structured development about a victim who is the worst man damaged people’s lives are brilliant elements that attract my full focus.
