About this deal

Apply the lotion on the affected part once or twice, leaving 10-15 minutes between applications. Smooth in or massage if preferred. If necessary, repeat application up to three times daily, reducing to morning and evening when acute symptoms subside. Common features include vomiting, dehydration, tinnitus, vertigo, deafness, sweating, warm extremities with bounding pulses, increased respiratory rate and hyperventilation. Some degree of acid-base disturbance is present in most cases. The concurrent use of aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and ethanol may lead to gastrointestinal (GI) blood loss. Oral NSAIDs, including ibuprofen, can sometimes be associated with renal impairment, aggravation of active peptic ulcers, and can induce allergic bronchial reactions in susceptible asthmatic patients. Although the systemic absorption of topically applied ibuprofen is less than for oral dosage forms, these complications can occur in rare cases. For these reasons, patients with a history of kidney problems, an active peptic ulcer, asthma or intolerance to aspirin or ibuprofen should seek medical advice before using Radian B Ibuprofen 5% w/w Gel. Contraindicated where there is known hypersensitivity to aspirin, other salicylates, or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (including when taken by mouth) especially where associated with a history of asthma.

Just because a side effect is stated here it does not mean that all people using Radian B ibuprofen gel will experience that or any side effect. Radian B has multiple actions in different inflammatory pathways involved in acute and chronic inflammation. The main effects reported in ibuprofen are related to the control of pain, fever and acute inflammation by the inhibition of the synthesis of prostanoids by COX-1 and COX-2. Pain relief is attributed to peripheral affected regions and central nervous system effects in the pain transmission mediated by the dorsal horn and higher spinothalamic tract. Some reports have tried to link the pain regulation with a possible enhancement on the synthesis of endogenous cannabinoids and action on the NMDA receptors. The effect on pain has been shown to be related to the cortically evoked potentials. Digestive problems such as abdominal pain or indigestion, particularly in people with a history of stomach ulcers.

Ibuprofen is absorbed into the bloodstream less when you apply it to the skin than when you take it by mouth, which means gels and sprays are less likely to cause side effects than products you take by mouth. Keep away from eyes, irritated or broken skin and sensitive areas. Use sparingly on tender skin and do not cover immediately after application. Squeeze 5 to 10cm of the gel (containing 50 to 100mg of ibuprofen) from the tube and lightly rub into the affected area until absorbed. Take care to avoid getting the gel in the eyes, mouth or nose. Rinse with cold water if you accidentally get it in these areas. Don't cover the treated area of skin immediately after you have applied the lotion; allow it a little time to be absorbed. Most patients who have ingested or been exposed to clinically important amounts of NSAIDs will develop no more than nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, or more rarely diarrhoea. Tinnitus, headache and gastrointestinal bleeding are also possible. In more serious poisoning, toxicity is seen in the central nervous system, manifesting as drowsiness, occasionally excitation and disorientation or coma. Occasionally patients develop convulsions. In serious poisoning metabolic acidosis may occur and the prothrombin time/INR may be prolonged, probably due to interference with the actions of circulating clotting factors. Acute renal failure and liver damage may occur. Exacerbation of asthma is possible in asthmatics. Overdosage with a topical presentation of ibuprofen gel is unlikely; however, it may be encountered following excessive use or accidental ingestion. Radian B Spray contains four active ingredients which all work together to help to ease your muscle aches and pains. The spray formula makes it easy to reach painful areas that you may struggle to ease with cream or gel formulas.
