About this deal

South Korea’s national drink, soju, is a starch-based alcohol, usually around 20%, that has a fairly neutral taste in its most basic form. Note: The 2 are quite similar so I thought I might as well put both in this post and let you choose you preferred option. Method 1: Umeshu While most people dunk the ice cream bar into the soju mix and enjoy it as is, we feel blending the bar with the spirit offers a creamier consistency, almost like a daiquiri.

Directions: Put ice mixed with green apple bits in a tall glass. Place ginger slice. Pour 60 ml Jinro Chamisul Green Grape Soju Top with tonic water and garnish with the green apple fan. Jinro in the Palace Most soju flavors combine crisp, smooth Korean distilled alcohol with a refreshing and fruity taste. This makes the alcohol a refreshing social beverage that is also light and easy to gulp down. Apple Soju is a fruit-flavoured variant of Soju that has become increasingly popular in recent years. It offers a refreshing twist to the traditional Soju, with its crisp and sweet taste that is perfect for any occasion. It is important to note that when cooking with Soju, the alcohol content may not completely cook off. Therefore, it is best to use Soju in moderation and to avoid using it in dishes that will be served to children or those who cannot consume alcohol. Soju, often dubbed as the “Korean vodka,” holds the title for the most consumed alcohol globally. As per The Spirits Business, Jinro Soju recorded sales of 86.3 million cases in 2019, surpassing all other liquor brands. Does Soju Make You Drunk?Jinro: With a market share of more than 50%, Jinro is the most popular brand of soju in South Korea. It is popular among both college students and older drinkers due to its smooth taste and low price. Soups and stews – Soju can be added to soups and stews to add depth and complexity to the flavours. For example, Soju can be added to a Korean-style beef stew called galbi jjim, along with soy sauce, sugar, and vegetables. You basically cover the green plums with sugar AND alcohol of at least 35% ABV. (More details in the recipe card below.) However, if you like to make the most of your food, try the 2nd method which gives you plum syrup AND plum wine. Once your soju is ready for drinking in its shot glass, you can drink it however you like. Alternatives to shot glasses for drinking soju

Peach soju is a perennial favourite flavour, so level that up with a dose of Milkis, the Korean version of the fizzy, yoghurt soda that is Calpis. Having gin in the mix is optional, but does help to crank up the alcohol content a notch and add some floral notes to the overall beverage. The caipirinha is one of Brazil’s most famous exports. Made using cachaça, sugar, and lime, it’s light, sweet, and perfect on a hot day.

Fun fact: umeshu was featured in Episode 6, Season 1 of Midnight Diner or Shinya Shokudo(深夜食堂), a popular Netflix drama. Enjoy the world’s best-selling soju from the comfort of your own home with our great Jinro soju range!
