For example, therapists can encourage their clients to carry the cards with them to remind them of their positive attributes and as encouragement when they are feeling hopeless (Kobau et al., 2011). Use them to help others better understand and harness their strengths in life-enhancing ways.

The cards can be used, for example by laying out 8-10 cards and explore what cards the client finds tempting to look into. Values Cards are a self-exploration tool that you can use to think about what is most important in your life -- your values. Your values are clues to your talents, and your dominant talents will naturally influence your values. The worksheet I’m Great Because gives the participant open-ended statements to help them brainstorm positive qualities about themselves in different contexts (e.g., family, friends, and in the workplace).

This worksheet defines meaningful long- and short-term goals to help clients focus their energies according to their values. The aim here is to reduce them to the 2, 3 or 4 MOST important. These are likely to be your Life Values. The shared worksheets provide valuable tools for increasing awareness and understanding of personal values, which can ultimately lead to more fulfilling lives. Use them to ask the right questions and reflect on what they want out of their lives.
