When you tap on a thermostat in the app you'll see all the sensors attached along with the current temperature of each and some information about how much warmer or cooler that usually are compared to your Nest Thermostat. On the Nest Thermostat: Push the Thermostat > Turn the outside dial clockwise to the Settings cog > Push the Thermostat to select > Turn the outside dial clockwise through the blue circles until you reach Safety Temp > Push the Thermostat to select > Push the Thermostat again on the Heat To box > Turn the dial clockwise to increase the Safety temperature and anti-clockwise to decrease it > Push the Thermostat to confirm the temperature > Turn the dial clockwise to scroll down to Done > Push the Thermostat to select.

You can set a schedule to have your thermostat use a different sensor at different times of the day. It’s a shame too, as despite this lack of zonal control, Nest’s thermostat has an astoundingly simple interface that’s an absolute pleasure to use. Also, different rooms can be warmer or colder based on the number of windows, the orientation, or ceiling height. When used for device control, a magnetometer can detect the position of an object based on changes to the magnetic field when the object is moved. Activity sensors that detect activity or changes to the physical state of the device, such as a door sensor that detects when a door opens, or an accelerometer that detects when a device is moved. Also used to detect certain types of activity, so you can get an alert when a person or motion is detected near the camera. For each thermostat, you can select which temperature sensor you wantto use in theMorning, atMidday, in theEvening, and atNight.

If you hide your temperature sensor behind something in your home, make sure it has good airflow or it can't accurately measure the temperature in the room. However, other parts of your home, such as the second floor, can get a little warmer than the living room.

If you spend most of your time in a spot that's too warm or too cold you can put a Temperature Sensor in the room so your Nest knows it needs to adjust. For example, if your thermostat controls the first floor of your home, make sure to place your sensor on the first floor.
