Deeply buried targets usually give intermittent signals. Other items that cause such signals may be shallow targets, but located at a weird angle. If you stumble across a patch that gives intermittent signals, try scanning it from different angles, to identify the position and depth. You can use Pinpoint mode for more precise identification, or even change the search coil to a smaller one, if possible. Is the Garrett ACE 300 waterproof?

The Zero-Disc mode activates all 12 search pixels. It will, therefore, detect all metals. Also, it can find and separate good objects that could be hiding near trash ones.
