About this deal

Campanella soon found himself in multiple roles, including the Red Pyramid, which required intense care with makeup and footwear, along with Christophe Gans and screenwriter Roger Avary trying to master a specific approach that respects the exploratory origins of the original games, attention to the specifics of gaming delights results in a largely inert picture, and one that has major issues with dreadful dialogue, disappointing Silent Hill is a strong piece of filmmaking from a visually-driven director that, while not containing the most interesting story, excels aesthetically. Whether that makes it one of the best video game adaptations is up for debate, but Scream Factory’s Collector’s Edition Blu-ray release certainly gives the film a more welcome presence on disc in the U.S.

In the second part, Adapting a True Work of Art (21 minutes), he expresses his desire to keep game fans happy by regularly answering questions online during production. He reveals some of his inspirations from the world of art and cinema and talks about the necessity of compromise on the project. Silent Hill is a really interesting piece of the video game film genre. There are plenty of problems to point out with it, and you’re likely right, but its also a very fascinating movie. Whereas something like Resident Evil might be dumb fun or a Lara Croft: Tomb Raider gets a casting or some kind of setup correct, Silent Hill manages to both respect its source and the horror genre. And unlike so many of its video game brethren, it never, ever feels safe. For more about Silent Hill and the Silent Hill Blu-ray release, see Silent Hill Blu-ray Review published by Martin Liebman on December 27, 2009 where this Blu-ray release scored 2.5 out of 5. The vintage six-part documentary Path of Darkness: The Making of Silent Hill (62 minutes) is filled with cast and crew interviews and lots of behind-the-scenes footage. Casting, production design, rehearsal footage, stunt work, choreography and special make-up effects are some of the areas covered. This is a well-made piece featuring the participation of several key artists from the shoot.

performance, getting into the business with help from her mother at the tender age of two. Commercial work helped her with experience, also using

tales from "Hellraiser III," "FX: The Series," "Nightbreed," "Blade," and "Ginger Snaps." "Silent Hill" (25:34) reunites Jones with his most way into the North American industry, growing comfortable with Canadian locations, which would carry over to his next effort, "Crying Freeman." He Another vintage EPK titled Around the Film (5 minutes) provides a behind-the-scenes look at the set design and includes interviews with the producers and cinematographer. Starring: Radha Mitchell , Sean Bean , Laurie Holden , Deborah Kara Unger , Kim Coates , Jodelle Ferland Two photo galleries provide a look at the marketing campaign. The first contains publicity shots and promotional stills while the second offers a selection of international poster art.Path of Darkness: Making Silent Hill is a vintage documentary in six parts, which was created for the film’s original DVD release in 2006. The interviews are made up mostly of EPK material, but there’s plenty of interviews with the film’s cast and crew, as well as behind-the-scenes footage. The Making of Silent Hill (labeled as On Set on all releases, including this one) was produced for the French DVD release and covers much of the same ground. Around the Film is similar, but much, much shorter. Last, but not least, is the US theatrical trailer. When it comes to video game adaptations, it’s common knowledge that filmmakers tend to fail at capturing what makes the stories of the games appealing, or the material itself just doesn’t translate well into other mediums. Super Mario Bros. and House of the Dead can be enjoyable for their unintentional entertainment value, but only a handful have become, at the very least, passable films. Outside of 1995’s Mortal Kombat and 2016’s Warcraft (the latter I personally believe is a bit better than most give it credit for), one of the best continues to be Silent Hill.
