About this deal

Mouth ulcers are painful sores in the lining of the mouth, which affect some people and are often worse in stressful times. Mouth ulcers are common and should clear up on their own within a week or 2. They're rarely a sign of anything serious, but may be uncomfortable to live with. How you can treat mouth ulcers yourself Iglu Pastilles dissolve slowly in your mouth. This releases active ingredients that have antiseptic properties to help fight infection. At the same time, you get a cooling sensation that helps soothe your mouth and gums. Plus, they’re sugar free, so are kind to your teeth, and they taste great too. A mouth ulcer is a sore that appears anywhere inside your mouth. These sores are usually red, yellow or white, and you might have one or several. Aphthous mouth ulcers can be painful and are often a nuisance but are not serious. Occasionally a mouth ulcer can become secondarily infected with germs (bacteria). In this case you may notice increased pain or redness, or you may be feeling unwell with a high temperature (fever). Secondary bacterial infections are not common but may need treatment with antibiotic medicines.

It is unclear whether this product is safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The potential risks are unknown.

You might get a canker sore if you have a folate, vitamin B or iron deficiency. But in most cases, canker sores appear without a known cause and for no apparent reason. They can also recur (return), meaning they come and go over the course of your lifetime. Mouth Ulcers are one of the conditions covered by the Common Ailments Scheme which is an NHS service that patients can access for free advice and free treatment and is available from 99% of pharmacies in Wales. Iglu Gel is designed as a multi-use mouth ulcer treatment. The gel contains a local anaesthetic to help numb the pain associated with ulcers, while also creating an adhesive, protective layer over the ulcer. This helps to keep the ulcer protected while it heals, and prevents further irritation. Alternatives

Iglu Sugar Free Pastilles contain a small amount of a sugar substitute called sorbitol. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to ingredients of this sort, discuss this with your doctor before taking this medicine. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS Herpetiform mouth ulcers occur in about 1 in 10 cases. These are tiny pinhead-sized ulcers, about 1-2 mm across. Multiple ulcers occur at the same time but some may join together and form irregular shapes. Each ulcer lasts one week to two months. Despite the name, they have nothing to do with herpes or the herpes virus.

Usually only one or two appear at a time. Each ulcer lasts from two weeks to several months but will heal leaving a scar. They can be very painful and eating may become difficult. Oral lichen planus. Oral lichen planus is an immune system response and most commonly affects women and people assigned female at birth (AFAB) age 50 or older. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine. Driving and using machineryOral thrush. An overgrowth of yeast called Candida albicans causes this fungal infection inside your mouth. It commonly happens after antibiotic treatment or when your immune system isn’t as strong as it usually is. Oral thrush causes red and creamy white mouth sores and patches. Injury mouth ulcers caused, for example, by minor burns from hot food or drinks, biting the inside of your mouth, or rubbing from a toothbrush, brace, denture, or a rough tooth.
