The path goes from one end of the woods to the other, with the sound of the river's many rapids and cascades ever present. Miles Without Stiles are stile-free routes, meaning that they are suitable for those with limited mobility.These routes are suitable for a wide range of users including those in all-terrain powered mobility scooters and families with younger children. Dartmoor National Park was one of the first National Parks established in 1951, and it sits slap bang in the middle of Devon so it's easy to reach from north, south, east or west.The great Dartmoor walks in the list below cater for walkers of all abilities from easy low-level circular walks to routes across the high moorland tors. Birds closely associated with clitter slopes, tors and quarries are raven, peregrine falcon, wheatear and ring ouzel. Several pairs of ring ouzel breed around the tors of the north moor. Both ring ouzel and peregrine are rare.

is our team’s 50th Anniversary. We were the founding Dartmoor Rescue team (there are now four) and so it’s going to be a big year of celebration. It also makes a nice excuse to do something you’ve been thinking about for ages… Walking all the tors on Dartmoor in aid of the team to mark its 50th year and my 25th year seemed fitting. Following the Burrator and Sheeps Tor Circular Walk will take you around the reservoir and up to the top of the tor for a picturesque hike. Tors/walks close by – Leather Tor Circular Walk has to be one of south Dartmoor’s most beautiful walks, starting at Sharpitor, walk to the summit, enjoying views across Burrator Reservoir. The overlap between the routes listed is to allow the teams to be spread evenly. The routes to be allocated will be announced a couple of weeks before the Challenge. Beautiful tor in the north section of Dartmoor overlooking a natural amphitheatre of moorland. Amazing views and a great place to visit from Belstone in winter when it has snowed. Wild Tor. Super collection of outcrops close to Hangingstone Hill and Cranmere Pool on the north plateau. Just into Dartmoor National Park and a few miles from Ivybridge, this ancient section of woodland is a well-kept secret amongst local residents and frequent visitors, so an ideal spot if you’re looking to escape the summer crowds for a morning or afternoon.
