About this deal

Round 2: The Chase – all players play at the same time. They all place their playing pieces on the playing board Chase Ladder, 3 steps away from The Chaser. Each player then looks at the red side of their money token for the Chasers money offer statement. Each player then decides if to play for the money on the blue side of their token, move one step away for a lower money offer or take a step closer to The Chaser for a higher money value (as shown on the red side of the card). Each player then takes it in turns to answer a multiple-choice question from the red question cards (the cards also show how The Chaser has answered). If the contestant gets the answer correct, they move one step closer to the end, if they get it wrong, they stay where they are. The Chaser also moves in the same way. If the contestant gets to the end before The Chaser catches up with them they win the money they were playing for. If The Chaser catches up with them, they lose and are out of the game. But instead of shouting at the screen, we have been playing the board game version of The Chase in comfort of our own home. We love board games in our house, especially quiz games, but The Chase board game isn’t just a general knowledge quiz game, it is a race to beat The Chasers and the electronic timer! It is a quiz game suitable for family play and has over 1000 questions. It requires a minimum of 3 players, and a maximum of 6 players and is suitable for age 8+. If two die of the same colour are adjacent to each other, the player can choose to have the two dice exchange values instead of moving those dice. The player moves value from one of the dice to the other such that the total value of the two dice remains the same. For example, two adjacent dice with values of 4 and 2 could have their values changed to 5-1, 3-3, 2-4 or 1-5. [2] Ending the Game [ edit ] As soon as you start a game in Free Chess there's a display on the left (that can be toggled off) that lists the moves since the game start. Players can choose to copy this transcription at any time during the game, storing it as a text document on their computer. Use this to pinpoint where you went right (or wrong!) in your strategy. Play any way you want Mike Brunton reviewed Chase for White Dwarf #93, and stated that " Chase was deservedly in Omni's Top Ten games when it was released, no bad recommendation in itself. It also gets a highly recommended here." [1]

Free Chess is not devoid of any added features, however; they just won't add anything in the way of customization or flashy visuals. It's even ad-free, unlike competitor 3D Chess. For more beginner players Free Chess also has the option to undo your previous move, as well as a hint button which recommends the next move you can make.

Life's Full of Surprises...

If you have ever watched The Chase on television, you will be fully aware of The Chasers, if not, The Chasers are professional quizzers with outstanding general knowledge – their level of general knowledge really is impressive. The Chase board game version doesn’t feature all The Chasers we currently see on our television screens. We all have our favourite Chasers, but the board game version features only four of them: The Beast (Mark Labbett), The Destroyer (Shaun Wallace), TheGoverness (Anne Hegerty) and The Sinnerman (Paul Sinha). The knight moves to the field two fields along the vertical and one horizontally or one field vertically and two horizontally.

If a player bumps one of their dice and the bumped die lands on an opponent's die, then the bumped die successfully captures the opponent's die. [2] Exchanging value [ edit ] When a die ends its turn on a hex occupied by their opponent's die, the incoming die captures the defending die. The defender removes the captured die from the board, and adds the number of pips on that die to another die still on the board (thus keeping the total value of pips on that team at 25). For example, the red player moves a red die onto a hex occupied by a blue die with the value of 3. The blue player removes the die from the board, and increases any blue die on the board by 3 to maintain the total point value of 25. [2]

Includes: Game board, Chasers, Money tokens, Electronic time (requires 2 x AAA batteries - not included), Playing pieces, Question cards, Instruction leaflet Items that are not available in store will take 3-5 working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays) to be delivered to your nominated store. Do you want to learn chess or need some help? Use the Hint function in the game to see the best move possible. There are some excellent quiz shows on television and one of our favourites is The Chase (one of the most successful and longest running game shows on UK television and one of ITV’s most successful daytime TV shows ever!). Four contestants must answer general knowledge questions and try to outrun the very knowledgeable Chasers (expert quiz masters) to win the money players have built up in the rounds. It is a great show to watch, one that fans get invested in and shout answers at the television screen. Overall, we have really enjoyed playing The Chase board game. We love the television show, and the board game is just as good. It is slightly different that the television show, but it works extremely well. We all had great fun playing (2 adults and 2 children aged 10 and 13).

The pawn moves to one field forward or two fields at the first move of this figure; beats diagonally to one field forward. Chess is an excellent board logic game that develops such skills as tactics, strategy and visual memory. If a die ends its turn in the center hex (called the "chamber space"), it is split in two: the player brings on a reserve die and both dice receive half the amount of pips the incoming die had (unless the incoming die had an odd number, in which case the incoming die will retain the extra pip.) [2] Capturing dice [ edit ]

The Chase is a really fun and enjoyable TV show quiz board game (and requires no staring at a screen) that teenagers and adults will get the most from but is still lots of fun for children aged 8+ (although we would probably say 10+) – everybody can join in, play and be able to answer questions. It would make an excellent game to sit and play over the Christmas period when all your friends and family visit and would make an excellent gift for teenagers and adults. We think as a family board game it is excellent. It isn’t so easy that players get bored and there is a good mix of questions so that everybody isn’t always getting them right or wrong. Although some of the questions that The Chasers get wrong can be questionable, but they can’t know everything can they! Each player places 9 of their dice on the end of the board closest to them, and turn the dice so that the values on the top of the dice add up to 25. Each player must always have a total value of 25 on the board at all times. The tenth die is held as a spare. Players then take turns either moving their dice to capture the other player's dice, or exchanging dice values. [2] Movement [ edit ] To set up the game, first you need to install 2x AAA batteries (these are not supplied with the game) into the electronic timer and place it on the game board. Place the game board within easy reach of all players in the centre of the table. Next each player takes a coloured Contestant Playing Piece and the corresponding Chaser Playing Piece. Each player then takes a Chaser Picture Card (an image of The Chaser they want to play against) and places it on their Chaser Playing Piece. The Chaser playing pieces are then placed on the silhouette of The Chasers on the playing board. Separate the question cards into two piles: blue and red. Place the money tokens near the playing board. Setup is complete and ready to play.

There are over 1000 questions on various general knowledge topics, and there are questions that suit all age groups, albeit some can be quite hard (it is a quiz game after all). Some are questions where you have to know the answer, or not, and some are multiple choice so there is a very good mix. How many Chess games did you win? How many did you draw? View your personal stats and try to improve it!

Victory: A player wins by reducing their opponent to four dice, since this reduces the losing player's maximum total of pips to less than 25. [2] If a die ends its turn on a space occupied by a die of the same color, the incoming die will "bump" the occupying die one space in the same direction. If the second die moves into a space occupied by a third die of the same color, the third die is also bumped. [2] As with the television show, The Chase is on! In this family board game players have to keep at least one step ahead of The Chasers and their wealth of knowledge to avoid being chased down to be able to compete in the Final Chase.
