Hello Yellow - 80 Books to Help Children Nurture Good Mental Health and Support With Anxiety and Wellbeing - I've been considering reading the Court of Thorns and Roses series too, but, one the one hand, opinions tend to set this series better than the throne of glass one, so I'm afraid that if I read this one first, then I won't like the throne of glass books. And I've also heard about some uncomfortable sexy scenes going on on the Court of Thorns series, so again my dilemma about not being kind of a sexy-romance reader.

Assassin’s Blade | Sarah J. Maas The Assassin’s Blade | Sarah J. Maas

It's not simply good, it's gorgeous and epic, and beautiful, and everything a book should be. Can't wait to get my hands on the polished version A fan on Goodreads No, it’s not. It’s very violent and chances are they are going to want to read more books in the series. It depends on their maturity but I wouldn’t want my 10 year old sibling to read this. As children they will break down everything they read and won’t stop thinking about it. Unless they have a clear idea on what sex and violence is like, wait a bit to read. There are still some gore filled scenes. Probably wouldn’t want a child to be reading of people getting their heads chopped off very vividly. Each of the books has it’s strengths. I would have to say that my favorite book of the series is probably Heir of Fire (which is book 3).Common Sense is the nation's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of all kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in the 21st century.

Now this is a more suitable age. Again it depends on maturity. Kids are usually in 7-8th grade at this time. I would say wait until 8th grade because this is before a kid goes to high school and life will be more interesting. I feel as a more mature and knowledgeable person I can appreciate the book better. But there are some parents that are very protective from letting their kids know about... you know... se x and if this is the case I would wait until the parent, possibly you, think that this knowledge is ready to be shared. Although the book can be unsettling at times when it hits you hard on what se x actually is. Magic fuses every word of this book together, and I found myself loving all the characters as I got to know them. This is a beautiful read A fan on Goodreads I hate to even give you the names of the characters, because naming the characters can tell you how the books play out later in the series! In the first installment, set in the times of castles, kings, and horses (no industry) the main character (Celaena Sardothien) is mining salt by hand as a slave. After that, I would probably say Queen of Shadows (book 4) is my next favorite, followed by the first two books, then the series finale (book 7), then book 5, and then book 6. Do you like to develop your skills and compete against others? What's an interest you're pursuing, and what are you doing to pursue it?

Having waited for a long time to see on Sarah's blog that this would be published, I almost started crying when I found out it would be - the only reason I didn't was that I had gone quite numb from excitement A fan on Goodreads But talking about the series it's not very culturally diverse. The only characters who weren't white were in like two books at the most. Example: Nehemia. She was my FAVOURITE character. I was so upset that Sarah killed her off, and there wasn't even a good reason why. She could've lived and it would still be a good book. Epic, witty and brilliantly plotted ... I am one of the thousands of people who read this book on fictionpress several years ago and fell in love with it, and I am counting down the days until it gets published A fan on Goodreads

view spoiler) [I was around 9-10 years old when I started reading this series. I got through all of the books without any major problems. Reading level wise I feel is for elementary, but content maybe middle school???? but then again I have been desensitized cuz I read so many young adult books when I was really young. If you like the kinds of books that I described, then I think you’ll like this series as much as I did. What are these books about? My mom said that these books are downright. 'pornographic'. They ARE NOT! (they do have a few cringe love scenes but not very descriptive) Its not like parents can hide this from kids anyway. They always find a way. SO what are they gonna do, Protect us forever. Did you know you can flag iffy content? Adjust limits for Sex, Romance & Nudity in your kid's entertainment guide. Get started Close

Families can talk about stories like Throne of Glass and the premise that sometimes none of your choices are good, but you have to choose anyway. Why do you think this is such a popular storytelling theme, and what stories do you think deal with it especially well? Most of the main characters are described as having dark or golden skin. The story takes place in a fantasy world with extremes of wealth and poverty. Many characters resist being limited by stereotypes. Well as long as the kid is mature enough to not make a big fuss about what is in that book (which is mostly kissing and blood and no sex) Alright folks, I have been living the Throne of Glass series by Sarah Maas for the past several months. It is 2020 as I am writing this post, and I am a little embarrassed to admit that I only recently discovered Sarah Maas (or the whole YA genre which I have great love for).

Yes, there is. But it is not a huge focus of the books and is not terribly integral to the plot. Without giving anything away, while there is some romancy type stuff in the first 2 books, most of those books are focused on the mail character making her way through all of her various challenges. The relationship type stuff is a bit of an afterthought.
