About this deal

With a scale of 1:24 and an impressive 391 parts, this kit offers an authentic experience for modeling enthusiasts. With a length of 381 mm, the model is not only impressively large, but also detailed. Due to the level 5 difficulty, this kit is specially designed for experienced modelers who have sound knowledge and skills in model building. This model is great for experts who are looking for a new challenge and want to put their skills to the test Scope of delivery: Going to have a work area at the front of the bus, tools, gas bottles (cutting gear) see additional images below from Kit Form Services. Firstly a little creative influence here, as Revell never mention which colour to use, I have went for a slight cream colour on the band round the bus. The model kit is upgraded to the "Platinum Edition" with high quality photo etched and metal parts and allows for an exceptionally detailed model.Model-Details:

The bus kit itself comes with more plastic than I have ever seen before in a model kit, it is HUGE! I have went for the CTM photo etch as well, to give it that little bit extra. None of the bus as been done yet, it is hoped that I will progress with that shortly, but for now here are a few snaps of the progress of the road. Once finished, it will be given slight weathering and the gaps filled for a more natural road scene. Thats all for now folks, dont know how much I will get done in the next week or so, but will update things as and when I next make good progress. The Revell London Bus AEC Routemaster in 1/24 scale from the plastic models range accurately recreates the real life British classic public transport vehicle. Also started off the internal roofs, with a very subtle weathering (dont know if you will see it in the image or not).

Body primed, rust added and sealed ready for the chipping solution and coat of London bus red to go on top, once dried I can start the rusting process. Stage 32 Scania engine similar colour scheme difference is parts Q 268 and Q 267 piping Again cheery red and on both Scania and Leyland along bottom of window painted silver . I am currently in the process of building a diorama of a street with the Revell 1/24 Routemaster on the street.

I should say that this is one of the best kits I have made, the fit has been excellent through out, in some case they snap together, not need for glue. Now, another huge hurdle for those with patience issues, is the seats! I have heard of people putting dolls house canvas on the seats, which is an awesome approach. I have elected to go down the decal cushions route. I have also gone away from the maroon leather effect, and an going for a tan leather effect on the seats (not 100% traditional nor accurate for a London routemaster, but we had buses like with seats like that in the Glasgow area many moons ago, so its good for this). Between 1992 and 94 a life extension program was introduced with most Routemaster being refurbished to extend their service life. This included a new interior and new engines, either Iveco or Cummins units replacing the AEC or Leyland engines. Some Routemaster (mainly the ones owned by London Central, Stagecoach and Arriva) received new Scania engines. Lots of Routemaster buses have now moved to new operators, or to museums or private owners, mostly restored to their London Transport red livery or being used for a variety of new jobs, from Cafes, to offices, mobile homes to name a few! Onto the build. I started with the street itself, and am doing this using the great moulds from Diorama Debris. These paving stones, kerb stones and cobble stones are being mounted onto a picture frame diorama with styrofoam base surrounded by venetian blinds (Got a full venetian blind in the IKEA bargain corner for a couple of pounds)! There will be a perspex frame over the whole model, hence the venetian blinds to guid it down (easier for my older parents to dust it if it is covered).

Stage 27 photo is above this post. This is the section between the driver's cab and engine housing L 20 you'll see a hole is to be bored for the Scania engine piping
