About this deal

Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying a live scene and white square taking up 10% of the screen (measured in Nits) The 55C735K continues to go far beyond its price point by supporting all four of the main high dynamic range formats of HDR, HLG, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. So unlike, say, all of LG’s TVs, which don’t support HDR10+, and all of Samsung TVs, which don’t support Dolby Vision, the TCL 55C735K will play the best version available of whatever source you feed it. The TCL C735 is a good all-round workhorse TV designed to be used in normal lighting conditions and offers a good selection of connectivity, gaming features, HDR compatibility and smart TV. Used in this manner it comes recommended and has been scored with the market position and cost in mind vs. performance. The TCL 55C635K does not come with a One Connect Box. One Connect Box is a feature that allows users to connect all of their external devices, such as gaming consoles and streaming devices, to a single box that connects to the TV. This reduces cable clutter and makes it easier to switch between devices. However, the TCL 55C635K has multiple HDMI ports and other connectivity options, allowing users to connect their devices directly to the TV.

The C735 boasts the same enhanced Ai PQ2.0 processor with Deep Learning, and also the use of a Quantum Dot filter, but not the same kind of upgrades to brightness or its audio system. It still offers a 144Hz native resolution, plus the full set of HDR support as the Mini LEDs, and the likes of ‘Ultra’ anti-reflection, Motion Clarity Supreme, Adaptive Picture and the Ultra-Wide viewing angle. It is also the last model in this list to come with Game Master Pro, Game Bar functionality and FreeSync Premium, so if you want the best gaming platform then this might be your best ‘cheapest’ option. Overall, the TCL 55C635K 55-inch QLED Television is an excellent TV for those looking for a high-quality viewing experience at an affordable price point. The QLED and HDR technologies provide excellent color accuracy and contrast, while Ambient Mode creates a more seamless and aesthetically pleasing viewing experience. The multiple connectivity options and Smart TV features also make it easy to access external content. Although it does not use OLED or MicroLED technology, the QLED technology still provides a great viewing experience. However, the TV’s speakers may require additional speakers or a soundbar for optimal sound quality. The default Vivid mode, for instance, is a particularly bad offender when it comes to the crushed detail in dark scenes and distractingly overwrought colours. The Movie mode fixes the lost shadow detail issue impressively well but struggles with too much red in the mix and heavy amounts of greyness over dark scenes. The low-power mode, meanwhile, is just too dark to do HDR effectively. The TCL 55C635K comes with a remote control that is easy to use and features dedicated buttons for popular streaming services. The remote is also compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa, allowing users to control the TV with their voice.

What is the TCL C735?

The TCL 55C635K is available in a 55-inch size option, a popular size for home entertainment setups. However, TCL offers other size options for those who prefer a smaller or larger display. This allows users to choose the size that best fits their needs and preferences. All of the new TVs support at least HDR10 and HLG, with further additions as you rise up the price list. The TCL 55C635K does not offer 8K resolution, the latest display technology that provides even more detail and clarity than 4K resolution. However, 8K displays are still relatively new and expensive, and most content must be available in 8K resolution. Therefore, the 4K resolution offered by the TCL 55C635K is still an excellent option for most users. The 55C735K’s connections extend to four HDMIs in total, a single USB 2.0 port, an Ethernet port, a 3.5mm headphone port, an optical digital audio output, and wi-fi.

The C635 also boasts an Onkyo sound system with 2.0 set-up using 2-way, down-firing speakers to enhance any Dolby Atmos output. There’s also hands-free support with voice controls and compatibility with the likes of TCL Home, Alexa and Chromecast (but no Apple AirPlay 2 or the likes of Matter and Miracast). Percentage luminance drop at 35 degree horizontal angle from the centre of the screen with 100% white output

At the time of writing, the larger 75 and 85-inch models were not in the pipeline for the UK market but watch this space! Size / Model (UK)

The result is that the 6-Series is more closer akin to OLED in terms of brightness and contrast, but has the benefit of using quantum dots, like last year, which means you’ll see a Wide Color Gamut that looks amazing.

TCL’s 4K LCD LED TVs for 2022

The sound on the TCL 6-Series is perfectly acceptable. You won't hear the fine details in classical music or the spacious soundstage of a 5.1 surround system, but you won't have any complaints about the volume level either. Likely to echo much of the P635 features, the RP630K is set to be a UK-exclusive TV that is currently expected some time later in the year. As with the RC630K, it will be a Roku TV including FreeView Play and all the usual suspects at your disposal (subscriptions pending of course). You’ll still be able to access the likes of Google Home and chat with Alexa if you wish, but Google Photos won’t be an option in Ambient mode. Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying a live scene and white square taking up 60% of the screen (measured in Nits) Percentage luminance drop at 20 degree vertical angle from the centre of the screen with 100% white output We are reviewing the 55-inch version of the TCL C735 and given other screen sizes use similar panels, performance should be reasonably similar, but we cannot guarantee that will be the case given the usual differences in LCD panel to panel.
