On 20 September, the University of Cambridge launched its new discovery experience, iDiscover. iDiscover allows users to search articles, books, manuscripts, images, videos and much more, all through one easy to use interface. Other helpful information, such as details about your Faculty or Departmental Library and Librarian ArchiveSearch - a finding aid for archives and primary sources, including including manuscript archives and photographic collections. Many of our collections can be found on our online catalogue on our ArchiveSearch database. ArchiveSearch holds our main catalogue and also has catalogues for University Archives and the Royal Greenwich Observatory Archives. There are two parts to iDiscover the search engine and your library account. During your time at Cambridge University you will be using both either for books, online resources or managing your account.

Commonwealth Room: A bright and spacious reading room with large study tables equipped with power outlets for you to use with your own devices. You can access iDiscover and electronic resources through the public PCs here. There is also a self-service copier and scanner located in the annex to the Commonwealth Room. Girton College Library has its own library catalogue, called Heritage. So which library catalogue should you use? Generally, iDiscover is useful for finding print and electronic resources available across numerous Cambridge University libraries. However, if you wish to access printed resources available at Girton we recommend you use Heritage.

Originally for documents such as title deeds, manorial court records, and accounting papers, but now includes a much wider range of material. Unable to visit the library? Start by exploring the libraries online. If the material you need isn't available in electronic form, Scan & Deliver offers an electronic delivery service, or you can gain enhanced remote access to Special Collections items via the Virtual Reading Room. Through exploring and understanding how one thinks and reacts, you can learn how to control your perceptions and mindset in the most powerful way.
