About this deal

your claims that dslr wide open focusing is preferable are wrong because it ignores focus shift, and no, as roger stated the 24-105 does not have a focus shift problem: "This is NOT a focus shift, as it’s being called wrongly on the internet" Mind you, I'm not saying that cameras need anywhere *near* that resolution on their rear screens. I'm one of those who think that cell phone screen resolutions are needlessly high. I'm just illustrating the difference in how phone screens resolution has advanced over the years while camera screens have increased very little. There's also a fully-articulating rear screen. These aren't to everyone's taste but allow video, vlogging and selfie shooting in a way that a tilt-out screen doesn't.

Sony A7 IV review: the new hybrid king | TechRadar

USB charging and power delivery are only supported via the USB Type-C® terminal. A battery must be installed in the camera when supplying USB power. The internal battery may drain even if USB power is supplied, depending on the adaptor used and camera operating conditions. A fully articulating screen can be useful for waist-level shooting, vlogging or selfies. It also allows you to monitor the camera if you're using its streaming mode. I think what Sam is getting at is that at higher resolutions, it takes more power to deliver greater brightness. In that article Sam linked to, the solution was to use materials that allow for greater power efficiency so one can have higher resolution with greater brightness. This table should make clear that the a7 IV is well specced, but not to the point of standing out from its less expensive rivals. As such, it's going to be the real-world performance of the AF system, the degree of rolling shutter in its 4K footage, and its ability to maintain its 10fps burst rate for many hundreds of images that will need to set it apart. What I do know is this: in real world testing, people have been able to get more battery life out of the Z9 than anyone reported on with the A1 using two batteries plus add on battery grip." no ovf can ever show you what the photo will look like before you take it, which is one reason why dslrs are obsolete and no longer being developed by the camera companies. And of course P&S compete with smartphones but they are like coming from stone age! No one with his right mind will chose camera with very basic jpg engine and f3 and above lens, over f2 and faster lens with all latest and greatest AI postprocessing! P&S is not competitive product, it is dead on arrival! Actually dead before arrival! :D That means if you are looking to buy this item, then your old equipment will be worth 10% more in part-ex value.

Alpha 7 IV full-frame hybrid camera - Sony UK

Camera vendors did the same in the 80-90-00s and still dreaming for this times. But times are changing and if they do not find a way to produce and sell more desirable and appealing products they will go to ask Kodak how to proceed. And oh yeah...that EVF of the Z9 offers a far better user experience than the A1...it's not even close. What a silly situation we are, communist ruled country as China to be better example for free market than US and Japan ruled markets :D! In the space of eight years, the a7 series has gone from being a low-cost full-frame camera with rough edges and autofocus that lagged its DSLR peers to producing one of the most all-around capable cameras we've ever used. There are few photo or video activities the a7 IV can't turn its hand to, comfortably. Muskokaphotog - "The camera can capture great video and stills, you just won't see it looking through the lousy viewfinder. No image ever looks in focus because of the low res EVF"

the Sony a7 IV has the same 3.6Mdot resolution evf as the Canon EOS R6, Nikon Z6 II, A7R III, A9 and A9 II as well. As stated many times already, vs a7III you have better ergonomics, higher res sensor, latest AF, 4K 10bit internal recording and some other smaller stuff. CIPA standards. Pitch/yaw shake only. Planar T* FE 50mm F1.4 ZA lens. Long exposure NR off. Still-image mode. Third, there was never real free market on the Japan Camera Market! Based on examples that we have like prices, models, market segmentation and etc we have well-protected oligopoly, with tons of patents and "secret" tech! More useful to more people is likely to be the 'Focus Map' view, which gives a simple, color-coded impression of how much depth-of-field your currently-chosen aperture is giving. Given the choice, we'd prefer the addition of either waveforms or false color displays to make it easier to optimize exposure (particularly when shooting Log footage), but it's certainly a useful addition. Video StabilizationI don’t think anyone was buying the base Alpha 7 models specifically for video before, but now that’s likely to change. The Alpha 7 IV makes a giant leap into 4K 60p 10-bit 4:2:2 All-Intra video. Recording at 4K 60p, the frame is cropped to Super 35 but there’s no pixel binning in the readout. At 4K 24p and 30p, it’s a 7K oversampled full-frame readout with no pixel binning.
