About this deal
The clear base will let you see inside. This is a benefit over the Everlasting Wet Palette. As the water naturally starts to evaporate it will cling to the lid. being able to see this before you open the palette is helpful. The first time I opened my Everlasting Wet Palette after a few days in the fridge, I sent water everywhere. including into my paint which caused colour mixes I didn’t want Cut it to size, this needs to sit flat within the surface of your content without any risk of creases or folds. Step 2 – Add Water In this guide, I’m first going to show you how to make a Wet Palette from a Tupperware container the wrong way. Don’t worry, the steps are correct, I’m not misleading you. I’m just taking you through the way I used to build my wet palette, an annoyance I had with it.
Palettes that were intended for mini painters generally come with good paper for us to use and I recommend using that paper. Wet palettes that weren’t created specifically for miniature painting come with paper that is more porous than we need as mini painters because they were intended for use with heavy body acrylic paints that come in tubes. The paint that we use is generally quite thin when compared to heavy body paint. The reason a semi-permeable layer is added is so the paint can absorb the water but the sponge/tissue won’t absorb the paint. ThemeProvider theme={theme}>
The main function of a palette is that it keeps your paint wet for much longer, hours or days, even weeks if necessary. This immediately saves paint as it can go on your model instead of dry on your palette. Palette paper is only as good as you make it! There are no one-size fits all approach but there are ways to improve your painting experience if necessary: Just go with me, you’ll understand as we go through (and probably exclaim, “Well yeah! That’s obvious”). Step 1 – Add Tissue Paper or Sponge simply tear off a fresh sheet when needed rather than stopping in the middle of something important like an underpainting session because wet color mixtures can ruin any paints underneath. Try adding an adhesive such as Vaseline underneath if you want to keep acrylic mixtures moist for longer periods without drying up.
Avoid leaving your paint in a sealed wet palette for a long time. If you know that you won’t be painting for a while clean out your palette and allow it to air out. Leaving it for too long will just result in a mess. Store the palette in your refrigerator A wet palette is made of just 3 things. 1. A container, 2. A layer of water-absorbing material such as tissue or sponge and 3. (Technically Optional) a layer of semi-permeable paper. Cut your Baking Paper /Parchment Paper to size. this should be slightly smaller than your we base layer. Palette papers don’t have a shelf life so storage isn’t an issue but it doesn’t ́t hurt to keep them in a sealed bag just in case! What Other Uses Do I Have for Palette Papers?
