About this deal
One of my favorite movie trilogies of all time has to be Indiana Jones. What? There was a fourth movie you say? No, that’s just a rumor. Kind of like Highlander 2 or a second season of Heroes. The game is played out in two phases. First is the Exploration Phase. On a player’s turn, they must first will move their miniature to a different tile. Once there, they can take the action listed. This usually involves drawing cards, playing cards, or gaining special power tiles. Afterward, the player has to roll the threat dice. These will tell them how many gems they have to drop into the basket of the sand timer. The timer is on a swivel, so after enough gems have been dropped in the basket, it will flip around, starting the Timed Phase.
And coming soon to Target stores, Indiana Jones: Sands of Adventure brings an immersive strategy experience to fans on June 18 as they step into the shoes of Indiana Jones, Sallah, Marion Ravenwood, and Marcus Brody in a timed battle against their greatest enemies to save the Ark of the Covenant. A variable setup and unique character powers change the game every session, as players work together to defeat their foes using whatever cards they’re dealt. Time is running out, and it’s up to Indiana Jones and his friends to rescue the Ark of the Covenant before it falls into the wrong hands! Scour ancient Tanis to find the elusive relic, while building up your strength and resources. But beware—if the sand timer suddenly swings over, it triggers a race to survive! Battle the scheming Colonel Dietrich, the dangerous Major Toht, and the ruthless Dr. René Belloq to save the Ark! Over the weekend, Lucasfilm dropped an exciting new trailer exciting new trailer for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Then, this week Funko Games has announced four new Indiana Jones board games to enjoy with your family. The best part? Three of the four games are available to play now! All of these games were made in collaboration with Lucasfilm and are designed for a wide range of players. Talking about making these games with Lucasfilm, Deirdre Cross of Funko Games stated: Final Score: 3 Stars – A solid game that despite its pasted on theme, still provides an enjoyable experience.
Indiana Jones: Sands of Adventure is a good game that I think people will enjoy for a few plays. The two-sided location tiles add some nice replay value to the game, as you can mix and match which side is being used. But with only 3 villains and 4 characters, I do worry that Sands of Adventure will get a little samey after a while. For the most part, one game is going to play out pretty similar to the previous, as there aren’t a ton of different things for you to do. But if you are looking for a light, cooperative game that you can play with just about anyone, Indiana Jones: Sands of Adventure is worth a look. During that part, you decide which action is best for your character to activate, bearing in mind their asymmetric ability and that of the Villain’s. You move your character to that tile, activate the action, and then roll one or two threat dice. If the threat dice reveal gems, you have to add them to the top basket of the sand timer. If they reveal an “X”, you have to activate the nefarious Villain’s meanie power! Round one introduces Colonel Deitrich, then round two has Major Toht, and then finally round three welcomes Dr Rene Belloq. And each starts with more health than the previous one….so you know it’s building up to the big boss battle at the end! Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, has revealed that the upcoming Indiana Jones game will be Xbox and PC only. While providing testimony at the ongoing court battle between Microsoft and the US Federal Trade Commissionover the former's proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Spencer commented on the game's exclusivity, and on the fact that it was planned to be multi-platform before the company's acquisition of Bethesda ( via the Verge). Well, 2023 is definitely shaping up to be an exciting year for fans of the Indiana Jones franchise. Not only does the fedora sporting archaeologist have a new movie hitting theatres this year, Funko Games have now announced, not one, but FOUR new tie in games! Indiana Jones Cryptic
The books of "Ancient Circles", "Forbidden Stones" and "Myths that Made Us" suggest that, in typical Indiana Jones fashion, the adventure will feature occult myths and ancient artifacts with supernatural powers. Indiana Jones game news Combine with other Something Wild! games to add more characters, Pop! movers, and Powers to your game! Easy to learn, fun to play, and a brilliant mix of mechanics. Game Experience: An intriguing first entry in a new series of interactive mystery games described as “Puzzles and Pathways Adventures”. Following the pattern of ‘escape room’ games and using Dr Jones’ journal as a guide, players will “decipher ancient texts, uncover valuable clues, and defeat unknown evils with logic, deduction, and creative thinking.” Indiana Jones: Throw Me The Idol! Thankfully, the teaser trailer does offer some useful tidbits which an enterprising viewer could use to piece together some parts of the plot. Given the trailer shows a map of Vatican City as well as writing that partly says, "I will be arriving in Rome", it looks like we'll see Dr. Jones adventuring in Italy.
