Trade Prices are from: In a climate such as the UK’s, this means the screw-head is continually in water & oxygen environment, never getting to dry out properly. This can cause the fastener to corrode (rust) up to 20 times faster than if a cap had NOT been used!Ensure you are using the correct Washer type for the head of the fixing - you MUST use a CSK Washer with Countersunk-head fixings, and F/B Washer for all "flat-bottomed" fixings such as pan-heads, flange-heads etc. It all has to do with how gases and water vapour behave in enclosed spaces, and is governed by a few Laws of Physics, such as Boyle’s, Charles’, Dalton’s & Henry’s. In essence, once water enters a space (because it is not sealed properly) instead of the water evaporating out again later, it becomes water vapour and remains in the space for a much longer time. Fitting the Cap to the Washer may require more force. It may also result in a white 'stress' ring forming around the perimeter of the cap. The white ring may disappear over time, especially if the caps are warmed up. I have had no complaints with the Snap caps brought so far ( and that has been a few thousand). The price is good and delivery always on time with a friendly and prompt service. This effect can be easily confirmed, by examining vehicles that use hinge-caps over the number-plate fixings. Even on cars less than 6 months old, zinc-coated screws will show signs of advanced corrosion. A great product and next day delivery every time. We are very happy with the service from Screw caps UK. Ensure you are using the correct-sized Snap-Cap for the fixing. Some imported fixings may not conform to British or EU standards, and the heads of the fixings may be up to 40% oversizedGreat product with a wide colour range and good size options, fast delivery, great price and very helpful customer service, would definately recommend giving them a try. I need a method to cover screws for a high end client at a blue chip event and Snap-caps fitted the bill perfectly, not only was the product great the range of colours gave a perfect finish. The only problem i have was deciding what shade of blue to choose!!!!!!
