About this deal

I had some naysayers with me who thought the book and its directions were all wrong and at one point did not want to continue on. This new edition, as well as being thoroughly updated, features the ascent of Monte San Michele and GPS tracks for all the walk segments. Tucked amongst the lemon blossoms and the bougainvillea is a line of thirteen towns that comprise the Amal Coast. Here either turn right on Walk segment 24a to Positano, or turn left, then right, for Santa Maria del Castello (and the bar/restaurant ‘Zi Peppe’).

Update 2: Just after the village of Pendolo the way ahead goes through lemon terraces with a sheer wall on the left and a sheer drop on the right. In this case after passing an obvious turning to the right, alight immediately in the next Village, Pietre. Segment 41: All went well until we reached line 3 on page 92: “ Turn right and continue past a waymark to a cistern“. Classed as a “book-object” due to their versatility of being enjoyed as a title in addition to a statement-piece, their distinctive graphic identity and editorial savoir-faire have captured imaginations, addressing myriad themes with a modernist perspective in 1,500 publications. A pinnacle of the Italian dream, the Amalfi Coast is filled with magical splendours in this exceptionally intriguing book of illustrations, detailing through myriad documentations its narrow, winding cliffside roads to its unparalleled views.

Featuring timeless landmarks like the Cathedral in Amalfi and Villa Rufolo in Ravello, immerse yourself in picturesque sights and culture. Segment 38a: Having reached the main road just above Vettica church, turn left for 300m/yds to a hairpin bend. Landmarks from the Cathedral in Amalfi to Villa Rufolo in Ravello all evoke the culture and the spirit of bygone centuries, and vistas enjoyed by the likes of Jacqueline Kennedy, John Steinbeck, and Gore Vidal abound. Turn right, to follow the fence (at first) and down a flight of wooden log steps to a junction with a track.Note on SITA buses: During the busy tourist months SITA buses are often so heavily used that special measures are advised. Known for its vertical landscape, the villages are only accessible via the Strada Statale 163 — a narrow, winding, cliffside route that while unsettling to traverse, offers unparalleled views. If boarding the bus at the originating location, usually Amalfi or Sorrento but other locations also, then it can pay to board the bus with a good length of time to spare. Segment 65a: After the ‘superb picnic spot’ (line 14), read: Now follow CAI marks for 100m/yds (towards a lone island)looking for the start of a path descending steeply to the right.
