About this deal

We’ve used the Nanit as a baby travel monitor for weekend trips to Connecticut to stay with friends and on longer trips like our 3 week family trip to Michigan. We’ve rented a house for both of these trips but have shared a room with the baby on them. Camera view using multi-stand with our crib at home New, improved stability and durable, compact design for any sleep space! Its solid base allows it to easily fit under smaller cribs and offers added stability with a minimal footprint. Well, as you might know, one of the best things about Nanit is its innovative, tip-proof floor stand . It allows the baby monitor to go behind the crib so you get the ultimate bird’s eye view of your little one. To connect the monitor and it requires that you connect your phone to wifi first, then connect the monitor to the same wifi to work. It took us a few trips to remember how to do it all since it’s not very intuitive (you need to go to “settings”, “pair Nanit with your network” and follow directions to get the camera into pairing mode). For those concerned about using a wifi baby monitor, it has user permissions plus two-factor authentication.

Align the ports of the camera and multi-stand, then connect them together. Be careful not to bend the ports while connecting the camera to the stand, as this can cause irreversible damage. The Nanit Pro has quite the hefty price tag for a baby monitor, so we were keen to see whether it would live up to our expectations. At Nanit, we’re all about improving sleep for the whole family. So the last thing we’d want is for you to lose sleep reading an instruction manual the size of a phone book circa 1993! That’s why we’ve gone the extra mile to make sure your installation is as simple as possible. There’s no need to reach for the tape measure thanks to our included mounting template. We even added a built-in level to the wall mount, because we care about every detail of your nursery just as much as you do. As parents, we often worry (maybe a little too much?) about the sleep our babies are getting. Even when traveling, getting your baby to sleep on vacation is likely forefront on your mind but more importantly, so is the safety of your baby. You can still get the Nanit camera with its floor stand. But we’re now offering a wall mount option that lets you easily mount Nanit to the wall. Both options were designed to ensure your baby’s safety and provide that unparalleled view of the crib. But you might prefer one configuration over the other depending on your style preferences. On the other hand, the floor stand is not small and it’s heavy. There are pieces that come apart so you can travel with it but it takes up much more space than the portable multi-stand. I prefer to not travel with the floor stand for the Nanit Pro, unless we have more space like when doing a road trip with baby. Camera view using floor stand Portable Multi-Stand for Nanit Pro Okay, okay, we know right now you’re probably thinking, “What in the world is a wall mount and why are these guys so excited about it?”

I want to detach my camera from current account so I can use it with another baby. How should I do so? Stress no more about where to place the monitor to get a good view. Simply install Nanit near the closest outlet, then set up Nanit’s floor stand or wall mount behind and above the crib. This ensures your camera is placed exactly where it needs to be to get the perfect view of baby, allowing you and our smart sleep analytics to see every important detail. Want to travel with your Nanit monitor? No worries. You can easily remove the Nanit camera from its floor stand or wall mount and take it on the go. Snap it into our portable Multi-Stand and you’ll be able to keep a close eye on baby at Grandma’s house and beyond! Note: The multi-stand does not provide the same birds-eye view as the floor stand, so Nanit will not be able to detect when your child falls asleep, wakes up, or receives a visit. Additionally, you will not receive sleep summaries while using the multi-stand.Fun though all those nifty little features are, it’s the core skills of a machine like the Nanit Pro that really matter. Things like image quality (which is really excellent, even in the dark) and the monitor’s reliability are both areas in which the Nanit excels.

Multi-Stand 101 – Nanit Support Multi-Stand 101 – Nanit Support

The Nanit multi-stand is a versatile stand that allows you to free Nanit from the wall, while still allowing you to keep a close eye on your baby. You can take it with you when you travel, use it as a Nanny cam, or use it to monitor your baby as they sleep in a bassinet. Either way, Nanit has you covered. We had fellow parent review the Nanit Pro Baby Monitor for travel. This popular baby monitor is great for at home, but does it make a good baby monitor to travel with? Where your phone gets service you can see the video stream from it. Since the Nanit is a wifi camera you can get alerts on your phone for movement near the crib, sound alerts and temperature alerts. You set the levels in the app settings, or turn them off completely if you choose. We like this because we don’t feel the need to be glued to the video stream knowing we will be alerted if he makes noise. If you’re already familiar with the original Nanit Plus, there are a few things Nanit has improved on for the Nanit Pro. Firstly, the image quality is much better, which is no mean feat considering it was pretty good before, and we particularly like its night vision, which is something a lot of monitors, even at the top end of the market, struggle with. The Nanit Pro is an exceptional piece of kit with loads of useful safety features and little extras that make it fun to use. We haven’t seen anything quite like it on the market; lots of models have some of the features the Nanit offers but none quite go the whole hog.

What You’ll Find in This Nanit Baby Monitor for Travel Review:

The band is really easy to set up and the app gives clear instructions on how to secure it to your baby safely. You have to be careful not to fasten it too tightly or put it above the shoulders, but it works well and gives clear readings all night. Each time you move the camera out of the house/hotel where you’re using it and connect to another network you will have to go through the process to reconnect to wifi each time. It’s definitely at its most useful in the early days of putting your baby down for a nap in a different room, or when you eventually move their cot into a nursery. And it’s particularly handy with a first baby when many parents need some extra reassurance.

There’s a very slight time delay on the feed, particularly on sound, but it’s a negligible second or two, so no real issue there.
