About this deal

a Velux KLF 200 (200€). This can control up to 5 individual windows via a touch screen or an API. Talks via radio to the KUX 110. It has a Home Assistant component. VELUX have teamed up with the smart home technology company Netatmo to create the New VELUX ACTIVE indoor climate system. Smart sensors continuously monitor the temperature, humidity and CO 2 levels in your home and open or close your VELUX INTEGRA ® electric roof windows, blinds and shutters to create a healthier indoor climate. Please note that if you are viewing the installation guide for standard flashing kits, part 5 as numbered in the illustrationis pre-attached to the window and is not part of the flashing kit.Part 6 comes within its own box that is positioned above the window in the window box. Apparently, once a Velux SML has been used with a KUX unit it changes mode of operation and cannot be used with the following method. The exterior is unmodified so I've also sealed the AC inputs to make sure nothing gets plugged in there by mistake.

So far, so good, but it still needs to be integrated into Home Assistant. For that we'll use Esphome. If you try to get the position via a triggered state node (e.g. every second) in Node-Red while the cover is moving , you will not get the current position every time. Here you also only get a new position after 5s-10s of moving cover. No change if the manual closing command is given too short (below 5s-10s) if you move manually via remote control Delivery charges will vary and will depend on the manufacturer, weight, size and delivery location. The cost is automatically calculated when you add items to the shopping basket.

No VELUX products installed

This might also work with similar rolling shutters/blinds from other manufacturers that uses the same principle. ❗ Important Note Perhaps veering slightly off topic, do the Velux windows and blinds work with any third party switches, I’d ideally like to replace the supplied single wall box single gang faceplates with one single width wall box dual gang switch if possible. In my (rented) apartment I do have several VELUX INTEGRA windows with blinds. I also asked myself what the best way would be to integrate them as in addition to the mentioned VELUX products also Somfy claims to be compatible (as based on io-homecontrol) both with VELUX and also with Apple HomeKit.

All VELUX window sizes are listed as width x height. For example, an MK04 window is 78cm wide and 98cm high. Setup using VELUX app goes simlarly as with Connectivity Kit (but only VELUX products supported, no Somfy) Goods that are either damaged or missing in transit must be marked on the delivery driver's paperwork prior to signing for the goods delivered, and reported to Roof Giant within (7) working days of the actual delivery date. Unlike other Sonoff devices, the relays are not tied to AC. As it can be powered by the same voltage we need to power the motors, it'll need only one power supply for this. VELUX windows will be compatible with 3rd party automation systems by using the KLF 200 to link them.HA integration via HomeKit controller worked only partly: for whatever reason I can only operate the blinds, but not the windows themselves, Somfy support was not helpful as they refer to VELUX (which I do not fully get as I thought of the Connectivity Kit to be the relay also for HomeKit). Btw, it is the same for “real” HomeKit, I have tried with an iPhone and also there I can only see the blinds but not the windows. In addition, the ”stop” button is not there, you can trigger open/close but not stop. Percentage for automation works. You may find a VELUX ACTIVE app elsewhere than in Google Play. An unofficial app may not be as reliable as the official one. We strongly that recommend you remove it and install the official app from Google Play. VELUX blinds come with side channels which come in two different options. This is reflected in the product code: I'm getting my roof repaired and my Velux windows renovated and I opted to get some electric rolling shutters (ref: Velux SML) to replace my indoor rolling blinds. I didn't need to get them solar powered as they are close to a power outlet. This was by far the most difficult step. It took me a lot of tries to get it right but it eventually worked. Home Assistant configuration

I sold the Connectivity Kit and and bought the VELUX KIG 300 (which seems to be designed by NETATMO). Here the result: If you have already configured HomeKit with another iOS device, please refer to the FAQ: ""How do I share the control of Apple HomeKit?"" to get an invitation. a Velux KUX 110 per window (80€). They include a power supply and a radio remote. This is the module that powers and control the motor. Status as of 2022-07-06: Still working and in use daily. How to control Velux electric rolling shutters with Home Assistant and without Velux hardware VELUX App Control and VELUX ACTIVE with NETATMO are both smart home products that can control your VELUX windows and accessories from your smartphone. The difference between the two products is:Works with Velux SML roller blinds. Conversion from SSL blinds possible, see below. Official Velux hardware The KLF 200 is a completely different product to the KIG 300. The KLF is an interface until which links our windows to a 3rd party system. The KIG 300 is VELUX App control which allows you to open and close the windows from your phone. You will have the function with this to set timers and p the windows into groups. VELUX ACTIVE and VELUX App Control will continue to operate during internet outages. The app regulates the indoor climate and sunscreening according to the latest set point applied before the outage (away mode, manual set point, etc.). After two days, it is paused as no weather data has been updated. Only the operation of sunscreening in the morning and the evening is ongoing.
