The term "water-resistant" stands for the lowest level of cleanability. Water-resistant wallpapers do not come with any surface coating; only the odd splatter of wallpapering paste can be removed from them. In other words: they are not washable. All other classifications, from washable to highly scrub-resistant, imply that they can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
