About this deal

The mechanism holding the headband and earcup together can also loosen over time. Style and comfort originally got these strictly for Dj'ing. Been using them for almost a year for that. Never listened to music on them really. They are great DJ headphones. If you’re used to accessing consumer headphones with more warmth and bass response, then these headphones might sound a little odd at first. Be patient, you’re really getting a much more accurate response here. Market-leading studio headphones delivering great sound, sumptuous comfort and a well-balanced response. The HD 25 Aluminum's first victory is its audio performance, but a close second is the simplicity of its design. A removable cable (with no phone controls) detaches from both ears—so the user chooses which earcup is left and which is right. Soft, supra-aural (on-ear) earpads and the well-cushioned underside of the headband make for an exceedingly comfortable fit.

As always, the capsules can be rotated and the split headband ensures a perfect fit, not matter how hard you find yourself nodding your head while in the mix. Even if you find yourself mixing for long periods of time, the Sennhesier HD25 remain comfortable and they’re built to last – with a tough single-sided cable which can be detached if required. Although longevity and extremely robust construction are important, you also need to get the style right. A common sight in DJ booths around the world since the 90s, the Sennheiser HD25 is the choice of professional DJs – the “industry-standard” DJ headphone. With a frequency range of 16 to 22,000 Hz and high sensitivity due to the lightweight aluminium voice coils, the latest generation of HD25 delivers accurate sound reproduction. If like most pros, you fall in love with the technology after you’ve tried it, then you could always look into buying some accessories too. These are headphones you can invest in and enjoy for years, despite the tough settings that DJ equipment often must endure. Though the HD25 headphones are lightweight, they’re surprisingly capable of holding up to all kinds of situations. Today, there are currently 3 versions of the HD 25 headsets on the market, including:

When you pair your headset with an entry-level device (from an audio perspective), like a cheap digital player, or cell phone, you’re not going to get the best results. These aren’t your standard set of consumer headphones designed to pump up the volume when you’re chilling on the train. These are headphones made for audio professionals, with unbeatable, mind-blowing accuracy in the audio. The issue with on-ear headsets is that it’s easy for frequencies to bash against the insides of the ears.

The first thing to do is ensure that you have the audio plug of the headphones connected securely into the audio device. A properly connected cable should not wiggle. If the plug wiggles that could indicate a loose connection. NOTE: This could be a result of the cable not being plugged all the way in or it could be a faulty input or sometimes if the device you are connecting to has a case on it the case will prevent the cable plugging in correctly. The Sennheiser HD25 headset comes with a powerful and wide frequency range of between 16Hz to 22kHz, so you should expect an accurate monitoring experience. Despite being extremely affordable, HD 25 headsets offer an insanely accurate and detailed sound with a balanced response. At first glance, it’s easy to be bewildered by the sheer amount of love and attention these headphones get.

Robust and powerful, these headsets have been to go-to choice for many DJs since they first emerged for the consumer market in the late 80s. Before that, the HD25 cans were intended for airline passengers and pilots, to assist with reducing the loud engine noise of the Concorde flights in the 80s. Since 1982, PCMag has tested and rated thousands of products to help you make better buying decisions. See how we test. Perhaps unsurprisingly for a set of on-ear headphones, the soundstage isn’t amazing – but it’s fine. You get a decent amount of sound depth, despite the clamping experience, and detail retrieval is ideal across the spectrum. The Sennheiser HD25 DJ headphones are a great example of what the brand can produce, with the extra bonus of noise cancellation that can withstand some seriously loud environments. For HD 400 series (except HD 435, HD 445, HD 455, HD 465, HD 475, HD 477 and HD 497), HD 250, HD 520, HD 530, HD 540 and HD 560 (oxygen-free copper) 37974BSF The sound is clear, loud, and reliable, so you know exactly what you’re producing at any given moment. Additionally, while the padding and comfort aren’t great, you do get a lightweight and durable design that’s difficult to beat. There’s no shortage in the treble, and no sibilance, despite the bright performance. Imaging is also ideal, and it’s easy to distinguish between different sounds and instrumentation in more complex music. If the headphones have sound in only one ear or differing sound levels in each ear or the sound in general is not what you expected then it needs to be determined where the issue lies - with the headphones or with the audio source.
