About this deal

The top filter is a more conventional light mesh sandwiched between layers of metal and plastic, and the decorative metal layer may prove restrictive to top-mounted radiators, especially towards the back of the case where there are fewer holes.

It throttled down to just under 1700MHz to limit thermals, as opposed to about 1780MHz for the standard torture test. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two! The case shines with addressable RGB lighting and boasts an extensive cable cover system for easy cable management. There is still some external plastic, most notably the rear shroud which seems to be purely aesthetic.

There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data.

It’s a cool feature that adds some interesting options for showing off the case internals, but as we’ve discussed before, the “chimney effect” is useless in PC cases where active airflow from fans absolutely overwhelms any passive effects from heat rising. The front door pulls forward and lifts out, exposing the mesh front cover and double optical drive bay covers; you can leave the case like this if you prefer the extra airflow. The complexity of adding a drive is boosted by the fact that you will need to have one hand in the right side of the case holding the bracket in place as you screw it in on the left side.

The black steel throughout the chassis smudges too easily for our liking, but a cloth is provided for you to give everything a wipe down once your build is finished. The Cooler Master Cosmos C700M does not come with a power supply, so users will need to purchase one separately. Each is controlled with a pair of + and - buttons, but each pair is covered by a single shell which is marked in three places, and status is indicated by multiple LEDs that aren’t all labelled clearly. The stripes move in parallel from the back side of the lid, across the sides of the front to the back of the bottom. Otherwise, it's an excellent compromise versus the optical-drive situation in most cases today: either no bays (fine, if you don't need one), or a bay or two that many users don't use and that's thus a visual detraction.

For someone who’s looking for functional housing for their PC, nothing can possibly be worth that much unless it comes with a lifetime supply of… anything, really. The motherboard needs to be inserted bottom first to angle around the mount, and the bottom-left and bottom-center screw holes on a standard ATX motherboard are partially blocked by the mount.

Both panels are interchangeable and can easily be removed by lifting the panels off the steel spring-loaded brackets. The case has a side window, which is made of tempered glass, providing a see-through view of the internal components. You couldn't ask for a more full-featured, future-proof chassis than the Cooler Master Cosmos C700M.drive, you first have to pick where you want to place the unit: behind the motherboard, underneath the 3. I had to partially remove the top portion of the case to free up the panel and was able to mount it correctly using a couple of screws from a collection of spares.
