About this deal

If your slots are all full, you need to swap your trick weapon to the other side (that’s an action, meaning a card discarded) or you will be unable to attack (and defend). Although it is a simple numbers game, the speed of an attack plays an important part, especially if you can kill an enemy faster than they can activate their special move.

Just kidding… Anyway, Bloodborne: The board game is a game with a story to tell and it unfolds depending on your actions. Or will you lose a turn to allow the enemy to come towards you so that you can dispatch it and then get the chest? There is no levelling up as classic games, instead your reward for killing enemies consists in a selection between 4 randomly selected stat cards that are more powerful than the basic ones you start the game with. The grim, almost horror, world in which the game is set makes for an excellent setting greatly accentuated by the use of grey colours and fantastic designs. The Trick Weapon dashboard consists of a number of different symbols representing damage and speed, as well as spaces denoting how many attacks that weapon has, but the long-and-short of it is that you have a number of “slots” where you can place a Stat card to modify a particular attack. It is fast paced, there is no time to just take a breather and recharge: you are always prompted to move forward.

Your Hunts entail familiar characters, enemies and bosses, but the overarching story and focus for these campaigns are different enough to keep you guessing. It seems trivial to say it’s “complete” free choice, but there’s no punishment for exploring other than the time constraint. Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. In fact, assuming you complete your normal Campaign objectives, and reach what should have been the standard conclusion, you could discover the secrets to uncover . Featuring unique card-driven combat, luck has little place here — success or failure depends on your choices and how you approach each engagement! While there is a gripping narrative behind each chapter and all the side missions, you cannot complete all of them in one single hunt and you are more likely to fail a campaign and restart from scratch than to win it. At our discretion, we may also offer a partial refund if you decide to keep the game, or offer a replacement copy in exchange for the damaged copy. Includes 2 Executioner figures, 2 Winter Lantern figures, 7 Enemy Hunters figures (Saw Cleaver, Threaded Cane, Hunter Axe, Ludwig’s Holy Blade, Spear Rifle, Chikage, and Beast Claw, all in enemy color), 1 Gehrman, the First Hunter Boss figure, 1 Moon Presence Boss figure, 1 Oversized Double-sided Tile, 1 New "Finale Chapter" (comprised of Chapter Cards, Enemy Cards, Behavior Cards), and 4 Kickstarter Exclusive Enemy Hunters (figures and cards). Bloodborne is set in a grim fantasy world where a plague spreads across the land transforming people into beasts.

Knowing when, where, and how to dispatch enemies as quickly and safely as possible is absolutely crucial if you hope to survive the hunt long enough to complete the chapter. Now it is safe to take a collective sigh of relief because Bloodborne: The Board Game is everything a Souls series fan would want. Furthermore, many of its rules are often vague or easily misinterpreted, the most notable of which are the Insight Missions themselves. These Trick Weapons are notorious for having two distinct attack modes, and that feeling of having two unique weapon types is carried over wonderfully. While there are some tiles predetermined for that chapter, those are usually shuffled together with another selection of random tiles meaning that every hunt will look different as you don’t know where the interest points will end up or how far they will be from each other.

For example you could use a Dodge to attack so that you keep the slot clear, a Stagger that will cancel an attack with lower speed, or cards that heal you after the attack, increase the damage or speed and so on. So having it as Bloodborne The Board Game is weird, because I love this too, but for different reasons. Bloodborne’s gameplay is so tight and thought-through that getting even a little thing wrong can make an already challenging game, soul-crushingly hard. The Game Steward is a small business, and we have no knowledge or expertise of taxes or fees imposed by (or in) other countries.

What’s more is the fast-paced and brutal combat has an excellent feel to it, compared with other minis games, as it limits choice. This expansion is not a campaign, but a plug-in that adds an extra layer of challenges and possibilities to the ANY campaign. It is the board game the fans have been waiting for, but Bloodborne: The Board Game can be anyone’s first Souls game as well. It’s a fun campaign game as well with expanding options and decision, similar to Arkham Horror 3 rd Edition.
