About this deal

I am not sure what the cause is, but it is something that happened during the initial painting/sealing process. I noticed the yellowing within a few weeks of finishing the countertops and it hasn’t gotten worse at all in the months and years since. Limitations: Store in a dry, safe place. Do not store paint in environments where extreme temperatures may occur. Keep within 5-30°C. Do not store in direct sunlight. Whilst every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of colour, due to limitations of the print process, colour / finish shown is for guidance only. This formula is meant to be used on vinyl, metal, or wood, so you apply it to surfaces like laminate countertops, metal bar tops, or wooden workbenches. Keep in mind that you will need to prime wooden and metal surfaces with Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Flat White Primer or Rust-Oleum Clean Metal Primer. This formula covers as much as 25 linear feet, which is slightly less than what other refinishing kits can cover. It is dry to the touch in just an hour but requires 3 days to fully cure. This curing time is also longer than other formulas, but we still think the payout on this formula is worth the longer wait, especially given its simple roll-on application method. Not priming. Some spray cans come with instructions not mandating a primer as the base coat. However, it is wise not to skip applying a primer. The primer acts as a binding agent between the spray paint and the countertop. APPLICATION: It is an oil-based formula with superb adhesion. A single coat is enough, but you can add up to five coats depending on your preference. It dries clean with a vintage or timeless look. Also, you can use the paint with minimal prep work.

Research creates awareness of what you are getting yourself into. Find out if the type of material on your countertop can be spray painted. Decide what look you want to mimic. Options to choose from include marble, high-end stone, or even a textured surface. Wipe the countertop and its surroundings to remove dust, dirt, and grime. Any foreign particle left on the surface affects how well the paint binds to the Formica or Wilsonart countertop. STEP 2: Prep the workspace Now it’s time to paint! Shake the spray can thoroughly for the paint to mix into an even consistency. You’ll have to keep shaking the can constantly as paint to achieve an even texture. Limitations: Spray paint works best for smaller projects or decorating surfaces. It doesn’t hold well with larger projects like a countertop. Countertops are exposed to water, heat, and heavy traffic, and the paint will chip or scratch with daily use. Clean Up: Remove as much paint from brushes as possible before cleaning. Clean with a suitable brush cleaner or soak in white spirit for 5-10 minutes, rinse and dry thoroughly.Countertop paint is a great idea if you’re looking to update laminate or arborite counters, but it’s not a permanent fix. We’ve had these painted countertops for over a year now, and I’ll share my honest review of how they are holding up at the end of this post! When I finished painting and sealing our countertops, I loved them right away. They were shiny and clean and so much more beautiful than the horrible laminate we had before. The idea of the stone spray paint is to mimic the real natural stone appearance and texture. Shake the can before and as you spray to ensure the stone-like granules are evenly distributed on the countertop. Also, you add a top clear coat that retains the stone texture underneath and doesn’t change the paint color as well. Chalked spray paint

A large rustoleum countertop transformation kitis enough to cover 50 square feet of countertop. We have a lot of counter space in our kitchen and one kit of countertop paint was exactlyenough to cover all of the counters. If you are only doing a small countertop, it may not be worth it for you, because once you open the kit, you can’t save any and reuse it on another project later. It’s only good at one time, and it’s too expensive to use on just a small countertop. How to Use the Rustoleum Countertop Transformation Kit

APPLICATION: The paint is easy to apply. Shake the can for 2-3 minutes before use and keep shaking during use. Note that this spray paint isn’t food-safe. This is an extreme close-up of some of the scratches. They are really hard to capture in a photo but hopefully, you can get the idea. The immediate results of the countertop paint were amazing! We had a ton of friends and family members come over that were surprised by how nice and natural the paint looked. The colour was beautiful, the finish was smooth, and the quality was excellent. Coverage for Metallic Finish: Up to 2m²/litre. Coverage may vary depending upon method and rate of application and porosity of surface.

Yes, you can spray paint Formica or laminate countertops. It is much cheaper to spray paint the countertops than rip them out and replace them with new ones. Oil-based paints are superior as they offer more protection against wear and tear. However, the popular choice is water-based spray paint, following its less toxic nature. Can you use rust-oleum spray paint on countertops? Invest in a quality sealer. A topcoat protects the underlying paint form, scuffs, stains, chips, and scratches.

NO ACCESSORIES: We couldn’t think of any other faults to this particular can of paint aside from the fact that it doesn’t come with any brushes. Most cans of paint don’t, but we can recall a few that do! Who is it Suitable For?
