It is very common for Oral-B brushes to actually be sold at 50% or more less than the retail price. The Smart 5 has a single power button on the front, that not only activates the brush but changes the cleaning modes.The 2+ weeks of brushing time is calculated on the basis of each brushing sessions being 2 minutes in total. So, 4 minutes per day. Whilst it is fair to assume everyone wants to get 100%, not everyone will be making sure they do this every time. Some will not be using the app all the time and some will get to say 85-90% by 2 minutes and deem that enough. The truth is, if one of the best Oral-B brushes happens to come to our minds, it doesn’t make much sense for us to stay with an immediately inferior one, no matter how spectacular it may be.

It has to be at head height to allow it to work properly and it will accommodate most phones. However, such an item on your bathroom wall or mirror will not be for everyone. The Genius X comes with 1 or 4 brush heads (subject to variant) compared to the 4 brush heads supplied with the Genius 9000. The case with the 5000 is transparent and rounded in shape whilst the case with the Smart 6 is all White in colour and although rounded has a flatter profile, it does too feel a little more robust. The iO still retains the typical design for an electric toothbrush, but it does look different to the Genius 9000.The one thing that’s hard to escape is the noise. Peaking at 82.4dB, the Oral-B Genius 9000 is super-loud. Sound levels aren’t enough to put me off, but just something to be aware of. Why buy the Oral-B Genius 9000? Reading the headline it is difficult to think that we are talking about electronic toothbrushes, but this indicates the level of development that Oral-B has imposed in recent years.
