You can read more about the fabulous toys available in the collection, here. But first, join us as we take a moment to spotlight the Disney Princesses who inspired these toys! Jane Porter– this Tarzan character was planned to be one of the original Disney Princesses, but she was ultimately removed from the line-up. Jane’s signature yellow dress is very similar to that of Belle. It’s believed Jane was scrapped to avoid confusion between the two characters. Anna and Elsa

Originally, there were eight official Disney princesses included in the line-up: Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, and Mulan. Today, there are twelve princesses in total, eleven from Walt Disney Animation Studios, and one from Pixar. And more Disney princesses are expected to be added in the future, especially as Disney continues to buy up other media franchises. Who knows, maybe we’ll see Princess Leia or even a character like Gamora join the line-up in the future? 1. Snow White (Snow White and the Seven Dwarves) 2. Cinderella (Cinderella) 3. Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) 4. Ariel (The Little Mermaid) 5. Belle (Beauty and the Beast) 6. Jasmine (Aladdin) 7. Pocahontas (Pocahontas) 8. Mulan (Mulan) 9. Tiana (The Princess and the Frog) 10. Rapunzel (Tangled) 11. Merida (Brave) 12. Moana (Moana) Princess Requirements Disney is pretty vague when it comes to just who can be a Disney Princess. But there do seem to be some general requirements. Crafted for young Disney Princess fans whilst staying true to the classic Disney Princess styling, this fun range aims to stimulate a child’s imagination during play. Made from environmentally responsible FSC® certified wood, (license C156989), and suitable for children aged 2 years and over. One set of 4 figures supplied. Styles may vary. The Disney Princess franchise highlights a group of fictional female protagonists who have appeared in Disney animated films. Each is considered either royal by birth, royal by marriage, or considered a princess because of their heroic feats. There's lots of fun to be had the beautifully decorated Rapunzel's Tower inspired wooden playset, which inspires imaginative play, allowing storytelling skills to develop whilst having fun! The tower features opening doors, and a fantastic hair slide for the characters to slide down. Includes 3 double sided wooden figures; Rapuzel, Flynn Rider and Pascal. The figures feature 'drop n play' feet so they can be easily slotted into the wooden boat provided, encouraging coordination. Disney Princess, also known as the Princess Line, is a media franchise and toy-line owned by The Walt Disney Company. The idea was conceived by Disney Consumer Products chairman Andy Mooney in the late 1990s, with the franchise launching in 2000. Disney’s Moana is the only daughter of the chief of her tribe. This brave, determined heroine is chosen by the Ocean to restore the Heart of Te Fiti and save her island from the darkness. To protect her people and the island that she loves, Moana sets off on an epic journey across the Pacific. On her travels she meets the once-mighty demigod Maui, and together they battle all that the ocean hides. The figures feature ‘drop n play’ feet so they can be easily slotted into the wooden bench provided to promote hand-eye coordination and colour recognition. The figures are also scaled to fit with any Disney Princess wooden vehicle or playset so little ones can recreate endless adventures.

Finally on the top floor in the tower, you’ll discover a beautiful Princess bedroom with more furniture, to put your princess figure to bed. Tinker Bell– she was added to the official Disney Princess line-up early on, only to be replaced by Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. Tinker Bell is now the lead character in the Disney Fairies franchise. The Disney Princess Enchanted Princess Castle Wooden Playset inspires imaginative play, allowing storytelling skills to develop whilst having fun! This beautifully decorated wooden castle playset features 3 floors, and 9 different rooms, bringing together a world of Disney Princess in one feature-filled playset. The character should be born or married to royalty, or they should have performed an act of heroism (think Mulan).

Reviews

This week, we’re delighted to be able to introduce Character Options’ fabulous new collection: Disney Princess World of Wooden Toys! Made from sustainably sourced wood, these toys are based on the Princesses from Disney’s most magical tales! Carefully designed with younger Disney Princess fans in mind, children can enjoy durable, sustainable, imaginative play with this lovely collection!

Pocahontas and Tiana are the only Disney Princesses with childhood best friends who are human (Nakoma and Charlotte, respectively). Today, official Disney Princesses are found in many different forms of media and merchandise, from sing-a-long movies and TV specials, to dolls and bed sheets and costumes. They also feature prominently at most Disney theme parks. Disney Princess World of Wooden Toys are made with durable and sustainable wood with eye catching and beautifully detailed designs. Crafted for young Disney Princess fans whilst staying true to the classic Disney Princess styling, this fun range aims to stimulate a child's imagination during play. The Disney Princess Wood Mega Bundle includes a Pumpkin Carriage, Rapunzel's Tower Playset, and 2 sets of wooden figures! Do keep in mind that there are also many “unofficial” Disney Princesses. These are characters who might be actual princesses (or similarly titled) in films, but who are not included in the official Disney Princess line-up. Think Elsa and Anna from Frozen (more on them later). There is also a wooden Cinderella Pumpkin Carriage! This stunning pull along carriage features a detachable horse, and 3 double sided figures; Cinderella, The Fairy Godmother and Jaq. One side of the carriage shows a pumpkin with curling vines. Then with a sprinkle of magic, turn it round to see it transformed into a carriage! Designed for small hands, and with smooth-rolling wheels, little ones can push along the floor and explore all kinds of destinations. The only two Disney Princesses with biological siblings are Ariel and Merida, and, interestingly, their names all begin with the same letter ( Ariel's sisters' names all start with the letter A, and Merida's brothers' with the letter H). Playset includes 10 pieces of furniture, and 6 double sided wooden figures included. The figures feature ‘drop n play’ feet so they can be easily fit into the slots provided, encouraging coordination. The figures are also scaled to fit with any Disney Princess wooden carriage or playset so little ones can recreate endless Disney Princess adventures. Made from environmentally responsible FSC® certified wood, (license C156989), and suitable for children aged 3 years and over. Adult assembly required. Styles may vary. Upstairs, you will find a Spinning Room, which even has a toy spinning wheel. The Royal Throne Room, inspired by Princess Jasmine, complete with 2 golden thrones, as well as a Balcony Ball Room just like in the Beast’s Chateaux, with a fun spinning dancefloor. Moana’s ‘Heart of Tafitti’ inspired playroom features a fun slide that goes down to the ground floor. The last three Disney Princesses (Merida, Moana and Raya) are the only Disney Princesses with no love interests. Not all Disney Princesses are official Disney Princesses. There are a number of princess characters that are not and have never been included in the official lineup, and they are:

The longest Disney Princess names are Cinderella, Pocahontas and Snow White. The shortest Disney Princess name is Raya.Alright, we mentioned Anna and Elsa earlier in this post. Both would seem to fit the criteria, so why is neither an official Disney Princess? Princess Jasmine from Disney’s Aladdin is the future Sultana of Agrabah. Despite being forbidden from leaving the palace walls, Jasmine sneaks out. When she unintentionally steals an apple it is Aladdin who saves her from the shopkeeper’s wrath! Add to the mix a magical lamp, a genie, a villain called Jafar, and a magic carpet ride, and you have the infamous love story of Aladdin and Jasmine! Under the sea, down where it’s better, down where it’s wetter, lives the red-headed mermaid Ariel! Ariel is fascinated by life on land and one of her visits to the surface, she falls for a human prince. Determined to be with her love, Ariel makes a deal with the sea witch Ursula to become a human for three days. But plans go sideways and her father King Triton is forced to make the ultimate sacrifice!
