About this deal

Much of Intex Challenger K2's stability relies on the removable skeg. The removable skeg prevents Intex Challenger Kayak from capsizing. Intex Challenger K2 isn't very stable when two persons are riding it at the same time, especially without the skeg. So for tandem kayaking, never forget to install it. By the way, inserting and removing the skeg is easy. All you have to do is pull or slide it at the attachment port on the underside of Intex Challenger K2. For first-timers, setting up the Intex Challenger and getting it on the water will take an average of about 10 minutes. The first 7 minutes will be spent on inflating the boat while the remaining 3 will be for securing the seat, attaching the paddle, and sliding in the skeg. However, the setup time gradually reduces as you get more used to doing it with every trip to the water.

Intex Challenger K1 Kayak Review: Is It Worth It? Intex Challenger K1 Kayak Review: Is It Worth It?

Generally, inflatable boats are difficult to paddle in windy conditions. If you have to venture into the sea with your inflatable kayak, choose a relatively calm day when there is no off-shore wind to drag your vessel deeper into the sea. A while ago, my husband and I bought two Intex Challenger k2 inflatable kayaks. We’ve used these kayaks a number of times and they’ve saved us a lot of money on kayak rentals around Canada! So that’s Maggie getting in and out. And just to make the point again, here is our good friend Zee, getting in a kayak for the first time ever in her life. Watch how easily she did it! This video shows how easy it is to assemble an Intex Challenger K1 Kayak. It took us about 8 minutes per kayak. Long Service Life – Its rugged construction and high-quality materials will make it last longer than other inflatable kayaks.

Is the Intex Challenger Worth It?

Hi there, I developed a method to repair a seam leak in my Intex K1. It works perfectly and it is very reliable. I call it the “piercing” method because after the repair it looks as if the kayak has a “piercing”. Intex Challenger is a right kayak. Nevertheless, I have a few issues with it that I'll briefly discuss here.

Intex Challenger K1 Kayak – the Review and Assembly of the Intex Challenger K1 Kayak – the

I used my kayak today for the first time! Less than 50 pumps to fully inflate every thing. It was so easy. The kayak is light enough to carry a short distance. Not cumbersome at all. It floated evenly and the oars were great. My third time kayaking and I love the inflatable much more than regular kayaks. Highly recommend!! Line up the bottom of the seat with the Velcro attachment in the kayak and then strap the seat in securely. Globally speaking, the Challenger is a great kayak. It’s ideal for beginners and perfectly suited for slow moving rivers or lakes. This is certainly not the most suitable kayak for the keen kayakers, but for a beginners however, it would be difficult to find a better suited kayak in a similar price range. Good, robust quality product with good features, including net storage at the front, comfortable adjustable inflatable seat. It’s really easy to inflate thanks to the two way pump. It just needs 80 pumps to fully inflate the lower chamber and 60 for the upper chamber, taking about 3 minutes in total, based on muscles and fitness! One thing for me that is an issue is that I have size 11 feet (uk), so these big plates of meat PF my struggle to be accommodated under the front compartment? The kayak cuts through calm water quite we, Ive avoided rough waters, so far, but I have been in the open sea and it was pretty stable and very comfortable. For the money, I can thoroughly recommend it."

The Actual Kayaking

There's a cargo net that manufacturers placed on the bow of Intex Challenger K2. You can use this to store wet clothes, water bottles, and other bulky objects. However, I do not recommend that you trust the cargo net to hold phones, cameras, and small objects. Just for you to know, the cargo net can also act as an extra grab line for the rider who seats at the front end of Intex Challenger K2. Both kayaks have a weight capacity of 400 pounds, great for two paddlers or a solo kayaker and gear. We recommend that you pay attention to the weight limit, as it can be easy to overload the inflatable kayak. I was skeptical about the “included free pump,” because in my experience, included free things are often not very great quality. However, I was kind of blown away by the pump (the pun is now done, so you can read on with confidence). The pump is so efficient that we had to be careful not to overinflate the kayaks. After every use of your inflatable kayak, you should rinse it down to remove any residue and any saltwater before storing it until your next use. This is a very important feature to keep in mind, as one puncture may cause your inflatable kayak to sink and become unusable.

Intex Explorer Vs Challenger – K2 Review and Comparison Intex Explorer Vs Challenger – K2 Review and Comparison

Like other inflatable kayaks, the Intex Challenger K2 kayak is constructed of vinyl plastic with welded seams. This construction is quite durable and resistant to impacts with blunt objects and abrasions. Inflatable kayaks like the Challenger K2 aren’t as stiff as hardshell kayaks, which allows them to flex in the water. This makes the hull durable, but also less efficient to paddle. Narrow, high-pressure air tubes in the floor of the kayak (known as “I-beams”) add rigidity and larger chambers around the perimeter of the hull provide buoyancy. Choose the Intex Challenger K1 if you’re a smaller or average-sized paddler (under 6’2” and 220 pounds) and if you have no intentions of paddling with a partner. The K2 is a great choice if you’re larger or if you’d like the option of paddling tandem.

Along with easy transport, storing an inflatable kayak is a snap. The Intex Explorer K2 and Challenger K2 are lightweight and fit in a nice compact carry bag. Easy set up: The Intex Challenger K2 kayak goes from bag to the water in less than 10 minutes. Take down is even faster.

Intex Challenger K1 One Person Inflatable Kayak Set

Two air chambers– The two air chambers improve the safety and reliability of the kayak, as well as making setup simple. The Intex Challenger offers enough space for two adults and some luggage. The cargo net is a huge benefit on the water because it’s very easy to access on the water as well.

Our Verdict

However, we decided to get solo kayaks for the same reason we don’t ride a tandem bicycle – to save our marriage. We have very different styles, and are both a bit bossy, and we just did not think a very small boat with two contrary captains was exactly a recipe for success. Plus, it also means that if one of us wants to go kayaking and the other does not, it won’t be a problem. I am looking forward to doing a ton of kayaking at the Bahia Concepcion on the Sea of Cortez when we visit Baja California next year. It’s a giant, tranquil lagoon that is ideal for kayaking. Why we Chose the Intex Challenger K1 Kayak First, because they’re cheap.
