About this deal

Strangely the comparison was being done with products which are priced almost double than BSD which caught my attention. It also provides very good protection. The birds poop which would earlier leave a orange coloured spot on the paint (if i cleaned it after a day), was now unable to leave any spot even after sitting on the paint for three days. The beads were small, tight, uniform, and spherical in shape – all indications of a fantastic layer of protection. I’ll never get tired of seeing water bead up like this on a nicely protected surface! I found the product to be extremely easy to apply and remove. Only very light pressure was needed and I had zero issues with streaking or smearing. I can't comment on durability, as I've n ot had long enough teat this, but I'm confident that it's everything it claims to be.

So, my running assumption (without any supporting info) is that a single coat of cured PNS—which cannot be layered because the solvent of subsequent coats will simply melt off any previous coats—is the intended usage of the product. Then, supplementing the PNS coating with BSD after washes, and between reapplications of PNS every six months. I find it interesting how all these auto-care product companies create these product lines that are devoid of practical information on their contents and properties. Allowing their customers to then understand how to use them as tools to achieve their particular goals. Sort of the “give a man a fish or a fishing pole” thing. I've also applied it on the glass of my car and let me advise you to not to do so. The wipers started juddering, whereas the rear wiper wasn't able to wipe the rear glass completely. Note that I've changed my wipers recently so that could also be the cause of the problems. As for the door's glass, it did quite well. Purpose of using this product was purely to get the pop effect on white paint and i am satisfied with it. The trigger bottle isn't great. Once you get to two thirds down the bottle, it is difficult to get the last remains out and it just spits a few droplets at you. However, this is the only thing that does let it down. But as soon as I washed it with 3M's car shampoo, the water beading reduced to a great extent. I'm clueless about this. 3M does mention that it is a pH neutral shampoo but cannot find anything which claims that it is safe for wax/sealents. I don't know if other members face similar problems. I think from next time I'll be buying Sonax car shampoo. To test the durability and longevity I will only do a rinseless wash for the next month or so UNLESS the vehicle gets solied during rains. The shampoo should get a special merit for being SOOOOO lubricious and the detail some special merit for delivering such astounding beading, but it is let down by the spray head which is perhaps more down to the viscosity of the product than the performance of the spray head which performs perfectly well with the glass cleaner. I can't tip a point off for that so it remains a top scoring product/combination. Several days after applying Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer, this car sat out in a pretty good rain storm. I went out to examine the beading action, and was pleasantly surprised. Even though the vehicle already had a good layer of protection, which beaded nicely on its own, I noticed even better beading and sheeting when it was topped with Brilliant Shine Detail Spray. First, although the instructions do say to wash and leather dry, that last part is not strictly necessary - you can sheet rinse and use this as a "wax it wet" product. This is how I used it today, with two approaches: first, using Sonax's wash and dry shampoo and second, using the same shampoo but rather than do the dry stage (as instructed), I sheet-rinsed.

I have no idea if PNS is even helpful in this usage scenario. If the BSD provides the same protection (albeit, for a shorter period of time), and you wash your car periodically anyway, the after-wash BSD treatment should provide the same protective benefits to the car’s paint. But the protection it provides is phenomenal. Before this I was using the Formula 1 Carnauba Wax and it did provide a warm finish to the paint, but wasn't long lasting. Also I found, that in comparison to the BSD it attracted a lot more dirt. And within two-three weeks it would require reapplying. One capful is 30ml. Four capfuls is 120ml ... and a half, another 15ml = 135ml. That's seven washes from the bottle, so perhaps "value for money" is not that great but, you can omit the final stage (read on) and you could easily get away with three if not two capfuls only for already quite clean cars (again, read on). but often too much and unless you hold the bottle about four or five feet from the surface, the spray pattern is not good. That might work out well on top panels, but side panels you're going to waste a lot of product. Solution? Spray onto a folded microfibre towel. Second, do not apply onto hot surfaces, in direct sunlight and don't allow the product to dry. Spray on, wipe immediately, flip and buff. Any discolouration should be wiped over again with fresh product. But with BSD it's different. There is a lot less dust attracted to the paint now, the Jopasu duster doesn't requires more than three passes for the roof(required 4 passes for the Formula 1), and water beading is very good. I was able to dry my complete car with just one microfiber after coming from a drive in the rains whereas, earlier it took me more than three microfibers. Why did you go with this, because in my opinion The Turtle wax Ice seal and shine is way superior, and with the turtle wax brand launched just a few months ago, availability and price isn't an issue. I had recently tried 2 of their products( Sonax Xtreme Wheel Cleaner,Sonax Xtreme Matt Effect)and was really amazed by the results. The shine left behind by BSD is great. Maybe not quite as good as that left behind by my AngelWax QED, but for the water beading lovers, it's practically untouchable! Very economical product, a little really goes a long way and you can literally do an average sized panel in a couple of sprays.

SONAX Brilliant Shine Detailer will gently remove any light contaminants from your paintwork & restore your vehicle to a just-waxed shine! Free Delivery is not available for Over-Sized parcels, such as Exhausts, Radiators & Headlamps - For details on these items please see the 'Oversized Items' section below. For my application I diluted it 1:2 (Product : Water) which brought down its viscosity to a level where it can be evenly applied. Systematically pour over the car ... the thin film of water will drain off and dry. Do not do this on hot panels or in sunlight.

I also do not see this as a product that requires a strict cure period. As soon as I apply it to the paint I can immediately rinse it and notice that amazing water behavior. I have not tested long-term durability at this point. The longest I've had it on the test car was two weeks under intense Florida heat and almost daily rainstorms, and the beading was still outstanding. I'm constantly cycling products for short-term testing, but I plan to also try long-term testing in the future. However this can be achieved by mixing it with other products like v7 but its not available in India.
